Play Like a Kid Is Next Month! New Date!

Fifth Annual Play Like a Kid Field Day FUNdraiser!

Friday, July 31, 2026

10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The Franke Soccer Fields at Lake Jacomo

Our fifth annual Play Like a Kid field day is moving to Friday, July 31! This new date gives teams more time to register and companies more time to come on board as sponsors, so if you've been thinking about getting involved, now you have even more time to make it happen.

Play Like a Kid is a great opportunity to get out of the office, enjoy a fun morning with your friends and colleagues, and head into the weekend feeling good.

Helping Kids Adjust to Summer

Summer can be an exciting time, but it can also bring big changes for kids. Without the routine of school, some children may feel unsure about what to expect each day. This uncertainty can show up as changes in behavior at home, like irritability, trouble sleeping, or a harder time handling frustration. This is completely normal, and noticing these small shifts early can help you step in before things escalate.

There are some simple ways to help your child feel more secure this summer. Try keeping a consistent routine around mealtimes, using a visual schedule so your child knows what to expect, and setting up a calm-down space they can go to when they need a break. It also helps to talk about feelings openly. Reading books about emotions or playing Emotions UNO together are great ways to start that conversation.

CAPACares is proud to introduce the two newest members of our Board of Directors, Tamarra Anthony and Jeff Hughley!

Tamarra Anthony is a Vice President and Private Wealth Advisor at U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management, delivering personalized strategies across investments, banking, and estate planning. She is passionate about community involvement, financial literacy, and helping clients achieve long‑term goals.

Jeff Hughley is a healthcare operations leader at Children's Mercy Kansas City, where he has built community health systems focused on governance, performance, and measurable impact. He is drawn to work that expands access, improves outcomes, and builds lasting trust across the communities we serve.

It's thanks to the dedicated service of individuals like Tamarra and Jeff that we're able to serve our community and continue to grow.
