Enjoy delicious food, a DJ, and dancing all night long. Show off your creativity in our costume contest, bid on our silent and live auctions, and try your luck at the liquor pull. Stop by the temporary tattoo station, grab a treat at our trick-or-treat candy bar, and so much more!

Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15, 2026, and it's a time to celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latiné communities. At CAPACares, it's also a reminder of why language access matters. When people can get counseling, education, and family support in the language they're most comfortable speaking, they can build trust and get real help. This month, we're highlighting one of the ways we serve Spanish-speaking families, and Ana Gomez, a pioneering Colombian-born professional.

El Mes de la Herencia Hispana se celebra del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre de 2026, y es un momento para celebrar la historia, la cultura y los aportes de las comunidades hispanas y latinés. En CAPACares, también es un recordatorio de por qué el acceso al idioma es tan importante. Cuando las personas pueden recibir consejería, educación y apoyo familiar en el idioma con el que se sienten más cómodas, pueden generar confianza y recibir ayuda verdadera. Este mes, destacamos una de las formas en que servimos a las familias de habla hispana, y a Ana Gómez, una profesional pionera nacida en Colombia.

Home Visiting

Our home visiting program has a Spanish speaking home visitor on staff. This means Healthy Families Jackson County™ can accept referrals for Spanish speaking clients without needing an interpreter. In 2025, 28% of the moms we served through home visiting were Spanish speaking or Latina.

Nuestro servicio de Visitas a la casa tiene un personal de habla hispana. Nuestro programa de visitas domiciliarias Healthy Family Jackson County™ puede aceptar referencias de hispanohablantes sin tener que usar un intérprete. En 2025, el 28% de las mamás a las que atendimos en las visitas domiciliarias eran hispanas/latinas.

Ana Gomez

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we are highlighting the service of Ana Gomez, a Colombian-born psychotherapist, author, and lecturer, to showcase the representation of Hispanic and Latino clinicians and helpers in the field of mental health.

Ana Gomez has built her practice demonstrating and sharing more than 20 years of success utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with children, and individuals who have experienced complex trauma in their lives. EMDR is one of the therapeutic modalities we utilize at CAPACares, which helps clients heal from traumatic events and complex symptoms of PTSD.

Durante el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, destacamos la labor de Ana Gómez —psicoterapeuta, autora y conferencista de origen colombiano— para visibilizar la representación de profesionales clínicos y especialistas hispanos y latinos en el ámbito de la salud mental.

Ana Gómez ha consolidado su trayectoria demostrando y compartiendo más de 20 años de éxito en la aplicación de la técnica de Desensibilización y Reprocesamiento por Movimientos Oculares con niños y personas que han sufrido traumas complejos. El Desensibilización y Reprocesamiento por Movimientos Oculares es una de las modalidades terapéuticas que utilizamos en CAPACares para ayudar a los clientes a sanar tras eventos traumáticos y superar síntomas complejos de trastorno de estrés postraumático.
