Inspiring Minds to Learn, Hearts to Love, Hands to Serve
Our students have been hard at work on their Gala Class Art projects! Pictured here is Kindergarten working together outside in the beauty of nature. Student artwork is always one of the most sought-after categories at our annual Auction & Gala. Be sure to join us virtually this year for your chance to see the pieces and bid on them!

PRESCHOOL CORNER
What fun we had in Preschool this week! Since Earth Day is on Thursday, the week's themes revolved around ecology and recycling. Students did experiments about air pollution, listed ways to care for the planet, and talked about ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. They also read stories like Earth Day Every Day by Lisa Bullard and virtually visited a recycling plant!
Boni B. and Reed B. put on "The Great CES Cooking Show" for their class earlier this week.
Elliot C. is the Star of the Week this week in PreK! As a special treat, his mom read virtually to the class.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Congratulations to CES 4th grader Nate C. who passed his black belt test this past Sunday! To pass this test (which was over an hour long!) Nate had to write an essay, know all of his karate forms by heart, and do 100 pushups! He worked very hard to achieve his first degree black belt. Along with his family, we are so proud of Nate!

Nate has been a student of Pandas Karate in Derwood since he was about five years old. His teacher Master Daniel teaches a lot about anti-bullying tactics and works to build self-confidence. What a great program, particularly during the pandemic when mental and physical health are so highly taxed. Congrats again, Nate!
