Phased Re-open Commences in April

Dear Calvary Parishioners,

Over the past two weeks, COVID infection and death rates have plummeted. At this writing, nearly a quarter of the U.S. population has received at least their first vaccination. Several members of the church are fully vaccinated and have been for some weeks now.

After consultation with physicians in our parish and the Re-open Team, it is my joy to announce that we are hopeful that we will be able to continue a phased re-open as we move into Eastertide.

This move will come with it significant safety precautions and restrictions, including the requirement of wearing face masks, temperature screenings at the door, and distanced seating. We will also continue to offer a Virtual Service option.

Here is the Service Schedule starting Sunday, April 11:

9:15 a.m. Virtual Morning Prayer via Facebook and Zoom (live and available on-demand)

10:15 a.m. Virtual Coffee Hour (20-30 minutes) on Zoom

11:00 a.m. Rite II Eucharist in the Church (starting at 25% capacity)

This schedule is subject to change.

Finally, please make sure to schedule a vaccination appointment. As of March 29, all Ohioans over the age of 16 are eligible to receive a vaccination. Vaccinations are our best protection from COVID-19 and quickest way to make worship and other aspects of life as safe as possible.

Here is a quick and easy way to find COVID-19 vaccine locations near you by type and zip code:

Looking forward to moving into a new phase of recovery in this pandemic reality.

Faithfully,
Allison English

Wednesday Lenten Study

We are studying the classic exploration of Christian community Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

This week: Chapter 5 - Confession and Communion

Bonhoeffer was a contemporary of Alfred Delp, whose powerful Advent of the Heart we read last Advent Season.

Complementary books and accompanying study guides are available on the stage at church. Click here to access Study Guide.

Study continues on Wednesday, March 24 from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. via ZOOM through Holy Week. Come as you are able to attend. Topics vary from week to week.

Discovering the Sacred
Calvary's own Jim Postell is teaching this Lenten series in Milan, Italy this month! You're invited to join via ZOOM.

All Saints’ Milan offers a five-part Lenten Series centered on discovering sacredness in the physical and spatial world around us, with reflection on the characteristics associated with the sacred and how it all relates with our spiritual journey and the Lenten season. Themes of community, sacredness, and making will be used to discuss the sacred manifested in the wilderness, the garden, the building, and the city.  All are invited to gather on-line using ZOOM for discussion.  Come build, share, and expand your understanding of the sacred.
