Make the News Feed Good Again:
You are Accepted

Over the past two years, we've made a point at Calvary Church to together affirm our commitment to inclusion and the acceptance of all people.

We've been hearing portions of the book of Romans this summer in worship.
The video link (shared on Calvary's social media platforms) contains portion of theologian Paul Tillich's powerful sermon on God's grace and acceptance, an exposition of the book of Romans.

An Invitation from Parishioner Rebecca Smithhorn
H ello friends -

Several of you have been celebrating weekly Agape Feasts with me in the middle of the week, and I've been grateful for your presence. When I first decided to try this, I promised myself I'd keep it low-commitment - short and no-fuss. But without thinking about it, I found myself wrapping up work early before our gatherings to pick some herbs from the garden, set the table, pour some wine. The gravity of even a small ritual has a way of pulling you in.

Small and low-commitment is valuable, and I hope to continue with the weeknight gatherings, but equally valuable would be something a little more spacious, with a little more time to share.

So I thought we'd try a Sunday Agape Feast + Dinner + Compline . click on the words to download your own copy

Tenative schedule: Sunday, 7/12 - 7:30 - call opens, say hello
7:45 - Agape Feast Liturgy
8:00 - Dinner together
As a conversation starting place:  Share a memory, story, or experience about bread.
9:00 - Compline
9:15 - Close

Speaking of bread, the Spirit is moving me to make biscuits for this virtual shindig, and I'd like to share them with you. (Yes, you.) So, if you're in the Cincinnati area, send me your address and I will drop some at your doorstep that afternoon, for no other reason than I think it would be tremendous fun. (If you're not in the Cincinnati area, I can share a recipe and wish you Godspeed.)
