Please join us Sunday night at 5pm for a Family Advent Craft, followed by an Advent Dinner at 5:30. This is a great time to get in the spirit of the season and get to know other parishioners.
Sunday is also the last day to sign your child up for our Living Nativity, which will be at 5pm on Sunday, December 12th. Children ages four to eight are invited to participate in this fun tradition. Sign-up boxes are on the Welcome Desk in the Mayfield Foyer.

What is the Immaculate Conception?
It’s important to understand what the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception is and what it is not. Some people think the term refers to Christ’s conception in Mary’s womb without the intervention of a human father; but that is the Virgin Birth. Others think the Immaculate Conception means Mary was conceived “by the power of the Holy Spirit,” in the way Jesus was, but that, too, is incorrect. The Immaculate Conception means that Mary, whose conception was brought about the normal way, was conceived without original sin or its stain—that’s what “immaculate” means: without stain.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is on Wednesday, December 8th and it is a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have three Masses available: 7am, 12:00 noon, and 7pm. We look forward to celebrating with you.

Four Ways to Give this Holiday Season
1) Giving Tree in support of the Pre-K Center at Johnson, an OKCPS early childhood learning center within our parish area. We're collecting unwrapped items under the Advent tree in the foyer through December 14th, including things like
- Sidewalk Chalk
- Copy Paper
- Tissues
- Outdoor Balls
- Playground Toys
- Hula Hoops
2) Cash donations to benefit the homeless women served at Catholic Charities' Women's Sanctuary Development Center. Donations will provide a warm hat, gloves and a scarf and a gift card to allow the women to purchase a Christmas gift of their own choosing, perhaps for a child or parent or friend. A donation of $25 sponsors a gift card, and $40 sponsors a hat, gloves and scarf and a gift card. Please sign up to help these women. If you choose to donate by CHECK, please make it payable to Christ the King and write "Sanctuary" in the memo line. If you donate online, please make it a one time donation and write "Sanctuary" in the donation details box. The deadline for donations is December 19th.
3) Christmas gifts for the residents of St. Ann's Nursing Home. We're collecting gifts like slippers, bathrobes, cologne or perfume, large-print books, blankets, etc. until noon on December 17th. If you'd like to participate, please wrap gifts, indicate whether they're for a man or a woman and bring them to the Parish Life Office.
4) Toys for Tots. CK's Cub Scout Pack 120 is holding their annual Toys for Tots drive in support of the Marine Corps. Last year Christ the King donated nearly 1,000 toys along with several monetary donations to brighten the season for kids who might otherwise have gone without. If you can help, please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Toys for Tots box in the atrium by December 6th.

CK Jail Ministry Still Needs Homemade
Christmas Cards
The CK Jail Ministry still needs handmade Christmas cards to deliver to the inmates in the OKC jail. This is a great way to involve your whole family in a ministry that brings some joy to those who are often forgotten at Christmas. Please remember to:
- Use unlined 3x5 or 4x6 index cards
- Use colored pencils or markers
- Include words of encouragement, Bible verses, holiday greetings & colorful artwork
- Sign them if you want but include first name only
- Please do not use glitter or stickers
- Drop finished cards in the box at the Parish Center

Thank You from St. Anne's Society
The women of St. Anne's Society would like to give a huge "THANK YOU!" to the Christ the King community for making our annual Bake Sale such a success. With the funds raised, we are able to continue participating in our community outreach programs. Specifically, this year we are donating to the CK Youth Ministry Scholarship Fund, which helps pay for students in our parish who cannot afford to go on field trips and retreats. We truly appreciate everyone who contributed baked goods, volunteered their time, and purchased items during the event on November 20th and 21st.
