3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 2nd Candlemas Activities
February 2nd is the feast of the Presentation of the Lord Jesus in the Temple. It commemorates Simeon’s famous prophecy that Jesus would be a “light of revelation to the Gentiles.” It is also known as Candlemas since it is the day that candles are blessed for use throughout the Church year.

Please join us for a special evening on Wednesday, February 2:

  • Blessing of Candles at 6:30 in the Atrium
  • Candlelight Procession into the sanctuary
  • Holy Mass by Candlelight

We'll also have a votive candle-making activity beforehand at 5:30, and everyone is welcome to join us! Catechist Laura Webb will lead this simple activity and all supplies will be provided. You can take your blessed candles with you to find a special place of prayer in your home afterwards.
Pray for the Legal Protection of the Unborn
Tomorrow is the "Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children” on which we pray for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life and of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion. Prayer is the foundation of everything we do in defense of human life. Find additional resources at this link.
How is God Working Through You? Find Out with Our Spiritual Gifts Inventory
God has graced us all with many special gifts called charisms to use for the benefit of others and His church. These many gifts include things like knowledge, helping, hospitality, mercy, shepherding and more. When we recognize our individual charisms, we're able to choose to serve in those areas where the Lord has gifted us. Take a Spiritual Gifts workshop or online inventory to discover your gifts!
