Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Weekend Announcements
This Sunday, July 16th, is our Baptismal Seminar for parents of infants and young children. The seminar will be held in the Garden Room at 9am. Register here.

All parishioners over 21 are invited to join us for Bingo this Sunday evening, July 16th, at 7pm. Bring a snack to share in exchange for a free Bingo card!

We'd like to thank everyone who participated in the blood drive on July 10th. We exceeded our goal with 25 successful donations. Since each donation has the potential to save three lives, your blood drive saved 75 lives! Thank you!

The last day to register for the OKC Discipleship Conference is Wednesday, July 19th. Tickets are just $20 and the day will be filled with the beauty of the Catholic faith. Register here.

The next opportunity to help the Feed the Hungry Ministry is Sunday, July 23rd at 11:30am. You may sign up here to provide items for the poor and hungry in OKC.

The Senior Adult Ministry will play Bunco on Tuesday, July 25th from 1:30-3pm. We need at least 12 people to play; please call the Parish Life Office at (405) 842-1483 to reserve your spot. They'll also be taking a day trip to The Celebration of Quilts 2023 on Friday, July 28th at the Cole Community Center (time TBA). Admission will be $10 for the event; call the Parish Life Office to join the group.

All high schoolers attending Bishop McGuinness or Mount St. Mary in the fall are encouraged to apply for the Knights of Columbus Jim Weinmann Bridge Scholarship by July 31st.

If you have not yet taken our short Parish Discernment Survey, we encourage you to do so. Results are anonymous, and the collected information will help us connect the dots between where the parish is and where we want to go. Take survey here.

The Sunday Book Study will begin The Ball and The Cross by G.K Chesterton on August 6th, a novel about two men with opposing religious beliefs - Father Michael, a devoted Catholic who thinks all non-believers are heretics, and Professor Lucifer, a scientist who doesn’t believe in God. Their opinions inspire a host of comic adventures whose allegorical levels vigorously explore the debate between theism and atheism. Contact Jill at [email protected] or (405) 641-7740 if you'd like to order a book and join in.

"Marriage in His Image" Program Gets National Attention
Check this out! The Pillar, an online Catholic news organization, recently featured Christ the King's "Marriage in His Image" program, aimed at fostering healthy, happy and holy marriages in our homes through monthly evenings of faith, fellowship, and a featured topic of interest. We are so proud of of this program, which will resume in September, and the interest from others around the country looking to bring Marriage in His Image to their own parish!
Summer Essentials for Women's Sanctuary
The summer heat is especially challenging for the many homeless women Christ the King parish has served at the Women’s Sanctuary. We will be collecting

  • bug spray
  • sunscreen
  • deodorant
  • visors
  • sunglasses

A box for the items will be available in the Parish Atrium through July 23rd. As you shop for your summer essentials, please consider bringing an item or two for the homeless women at Sanctuary who thank you for your kindness.

Catholic Inquiry Night: August 23
All Safe & Sacred Environment Certificates Expire July 31
In accordance with the USCCB’s Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City created policies and protocols for all churches and schools that addressed precautions for recognizing and preventing abuse of children and vulnerable adults and how to report suspected or known abuse.

These protocols are known as the Safe Environment program and all those who work with children or vulnerable adults within the church or school (teachers, administration, volunteers, parish staff, ministry leaders, etc.) must renew their training annually. The new training will be available August 1st and must be completed by August 31st. The archdiocese has put together a helpful Q&A with more information.
