Fourth Sunday of Easter
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and those who have shown a mother's love! Please take a flower as you leave the church after Mass this weekend.
It's Priest Appreciation Week!
This coming Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday and it marks the beginning of Priest Appreciation Week, which runs through May 14. We pray for Pope Francis, Archbishop Coakley, Fr. Rex and Fr. Kalivela, and all pastors: may they follow in the footsteps of the Good Shepherd in the care and leadership of their flocks.

If you would like to show your appreciation to Fr. Rex and Fr. Kalivela, please take some time to thank them this week! Send them a card, thank them after Mass, or drop a note on our website so that we may share it with them!
The End of an Era
Edwin Day, after 21 steadfast and faithful years of inspiring service to Christ the King’s music liturgy, is retiring.

Edwin’s integrity as a person is equaled only to his skill and knowledge of liturgical and intellectual talent on the organ. Not only is Edwin a highly talented organist, but he is a much beloved leader in the OKC classical chamber music community, and he is also a professional house sitter. But before any of that he is a man of prayer and a blessing of light to the staff and parish.

So why now? Edwin is having both hips replaced this summer and planning for one or both knees to be replaced later this year or early next year. Both wrists also need surgery so it is understandable that his overall pain level is high, chronic and unrelenting.

Edwin has literally given himself completely to Christ the King parish. It is now time for him to take care of himself. So the Edwin Era will be coming to a close in late summer, but he is committed to help with the search for the next music director and to make the transition as seamless as possible. Thank you, Edwin, for your love and loyalty to Christ the King parish for over two decades. May the Lord's healing love be with you now and forever.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Rex Arnold

Congratulations, First Communicants!
