Changing The Narrative

Our 6th Annual Changing the Narrative Gala is scheduled for November 8, 2019, in Washington, D.C. Please contact Maggie Collins at [email protected] if you or your company is interested in serving on the 2019 Gala Host Committee or for sponsorship opportunities.
The COMMIT Foundation continues to see increasing demand for our Transition Mentoring Workshops and One-on-One Transition Assistance. Our programs consistently receive high praise from participants:

“The COMMIT workshop was transformative in my journey from active duty to retirement. Although I have attended a number of programs - there is no comparison to the quality, creativity, and efficiency of the program and the first class staff!”
Scaling Through Technology
Website Launch
COMMIT has a new website. With enhanced functionality and anthem videos designed to give veterans a better sense of how they can benefit from COMMIT programming, we expect demand for our services to continue rising.
Updated Website Application Process
Our application has been simplified and specifically designed to better align our services with our population.
Digital Library Launch
We launched COMMIT’s Digital Library in January 2019 with more than 450 videos of corporate professionals, mentors, and COMMIT alumni providing answers to the questions our veterans find most difficult to answer in transition.
Production of PYP
Production of COMMIT’s Pursue Your Purpose online programming is underway. With a pilot scheduled for April 2019, we anticipate our first full cohort to begin in July.
If there is a topic you want covered in COMMIT's Digital Library, please e-mail us at [email protected] to let us know how we can improve.
Our Partners
COMMIT is blessed with a strong network of partners and will continue building out partnerships in 2019 to expand our reach and impact. We are fortunate to continue work with the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Naval Special Warfare community. Furthermore, the investment from The A. James and Alice B. Clark Family Foundation continues to open doors and grow relationships with other veteran service organizations.
COMMIT is currently in conversations with various veteran service organizations looking for ways to grow our collective impact. We look forward to growing our relationship with The Honor Foundation and its new leadership team. Stay tuned for our breakout at the America’s Warrior Partnership conference in September and our Women's conference being held in conjunction with Service2School and Promote in October.
Several organizations observed our Q1 workshops and in doing so create greater awareness of COMMIT’s tailored services. So far this year, we hosted Onward to Opportunity (O2O), The Unit Foundation, Hire Heroes ,and USAA. We also partnered with groups such as The Station Foundation, The Global SOF Foundation and Team USA in execution of programming.
Our People
The COMMIT Staff continues to grow due to an increase in requests for services. Mimi Bock is the newest member of our Board of Directors and Scott Walgren stepped in as COMMIT’s Director of Programs. Additionally, we will soon be announcing our second Senior Director of Veteran Services in order to maintain the quality of service as demand grows. Please take a moment to see the team.
The COMMIT Foundation
COMMIT’s engagement with partners has been bolstered by our Executive Director's participation in the Bush Institute’s Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program. Anne Meree was honored to be a part of the 2018 inaugural class of leaders brought together to build their networks and grow their impact in the veteran service space. The six month program helped COMMIT advance projects and develop skills to increase impact on the lives of veterans and their families.
