On March 11, 2020, Kentucky State University issued a communication to the campus community suspending instruction for an additional week beyond spring break and announcing a modified, online learning format when instruction resumed. At that time, only a small number of COVID-19 cases had been identified in Kentucky.
Much has changed in the last 365 days. As of today, Kentucky has reported more than 416,000 cases of COVID-19. More than 5,000 lives in the Commonwealth have been lost. Together we have mourned grandparents, parents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones.
Today, as we continue to remain vigilant and bask in the hope that remains, let us remember those we have lost and continue the fight for them.
