On the Road

California Western School of Law’s (CWSL) Competitive Advocacy Program Appellate Team, 2L Sean Duffy and 3L Jason Pitha, won the Pacific Regional Championship and the award for Best Brief at this year’s Judge Thomas Tang and Dr. Pearl Tang Moot Court (TTMC) Competition. 


California Western School of Law’s (CWSL) Competitive Advocacy Program Trial Team, 2L Caleb Morales, 2L Alexa Acuna, 3L Ashlyn Plant, and 3L Akeel Najimudeen, advanced to the semi-final round at the 8th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Trial Competition, hosted by UC Davis School of Law. 

In Service

Professor William Aceves served as a Co-Chair for International Law Weekend, held at Fordham Law School. The conference included 35 panels and keynote lectures and was attended by over 1,000 diplomats, academics, practitioners, and students. 


Professor Emily Behzadi Cárdenas assisted attorney George Fatheree as Supporting Counsel, pro bono, in a landmark case that saw the return of two works by enslaved potter David Drake to his direct descendants from the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Boston. 


California Western School of Law hosted a successful Judicial Reception. Many of the San Diego judiciary joined us for an evening of networking with faculty, staff and students.
