Professor Emily Behzadi Cárdenas was selected to chair the panel "Responsabilidad corporativa, transiciones, y cortes supranacionales." She also presented a chapter from her book on "Cultural Heritage on the Border: Baja, California and the Border Monuments" at the Latin American Studies Association International Congress in Paris, France, on May 27.
Professor Shawn Fields is presenting his forthcoming Boston College Law Review article, "The Anonymous Officer," at the Law and Society Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco. He is also presenting his Cornell Law Review article, "(Non)Police Brutality," at the Law and Society Association annual meeting roundtable entitled “Blurred Boundaries: Conceptualizing Health Justice and Safety in Light of Carceral Creep.” Both presentations are taking place on May 30.
Professor Pooja Dadhania will be participating in three panels at the Law and Society Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco. She will present her book chapter, "Incorporating Asylum Applicants’ Views on Interpretation at the Asylum Office,” on a panel titled "Immigration & Access to Justice: Immigration Lawyering, Interpretation Challenges, and Immigration Fictions" on May 29. She will be the discussant for a panel titled "Contested Borders of Recognition: Immigration Law, Gender, and Migration" and a panelist on "Speed Mentoring - Navigating Graduate School as an Interdisciplinary Scholar" on May 30.
Emeritus Professor Robert Bohrer presented “Back to the Future: Less Risky Business” at Stanford Law School on May 1 and at Arizona State University on May 21. He will present a longer, revised version of this talk at the American Society for Law, Medicine and Ethics in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 3.
Professor James Cooper will participate in the panel, "In AI We Trust? Civic and Public Acceptance of AI in Use," at the San Diego Digital Government Summit on June 10.
Professor Kristen van de Biezenbos presented as part of a two-person panel on "Breaking Down Barriers – Unlocking Provincial Energy Synergies,” moderated by Mark Watton, Lead Commissioner of the Canada Energy Regulator, at the Canadian Association for Members of Public Utility Tribunals (CAMPUT) Annual Conference in Montreal, Quebec, on May 7.
