This year, Calvary is excited to recognize Melissa Bradley with the Hope Award. The Hope Award is presented annually to a local leader who offers hope and empowerment to people in need. With a lifelong commitment to empowering and investing in women, people of color, and those living in poverty, Melissa exemplifies these values.

Calvary's Step Up DC program welcomed longtime volunteers from CREW DC for an interactive workshop on how to set yourself up for success in job interviews. Volunteers shared advice and answered questions from participants.

The workshop started with volunteers sharing information on how best to prepare for interviews, especially if they are taking place over Zoom. Women then paired up with volunteers to do one-on-one mock interviews.

After the workshop, one participant commented, "This workshop was great. All of the volunteers were women from various corporate offices and we discussed advice for virtual interviews. There were so many useful reminders about how I can be best prepared for my own chances."

The women in the Step Up DC program have shown such resilience in navigating the job market throughout the pandemic. This workshop empowered women to have confidence as they approach the interview process.

Volunteers are such a central part of the Calvary community. To celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week we spent some time celebrating our incredible volunteers on Facebook and Twitter.
