October is national
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
. Last year, in an effort to provide a better understanding of the condition of homeless women in DC, we released the 2017 Women's Needs Assessment.
The report found that nearly one‐third of women indicate that violence is the cause of their homelessness or housing instability. The complete report and a summary are available for download
on our website
.
Be sure to watch our social media accounts this month as we'll continue to raise awareness about domestic violence issues, and share information about public events and ways you can get involved in making a difference for survivors of domestic abuse.
