Tri-County Awarded $400,000 in EDA CARES Act Funding
|
This funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration will be utilized to support regional economic recovery efforts, evaluate the economic impacts of the coronavirus in the region, and develop strategies to effectively respond to the pandemic.

Initial Draft of Our 25-Year Regional Transportation Vision Available Nov. 10th
|
All are invited to provide feedback on the initial draft of the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, a long-range vision for improvements to our region's transportation system. We're kicking off the two-week comment period with a virtual public meeting on November 10th. Submit your comments by November 24th!

Request for Proposals Issued in Response to Pandemic

Tri-County is seeking a firm to collect and analyze extensive data to better understand the social, economic, and interrelated impacts of the coronavirus on the region. We are requesting proposals to develop a comprehensive economic impact analysis that will inform the creation of regional resiliency strategies.

As the construction season comes to a close in Michigan, several projects are nearing completion or have been completed! Here are some of the latest updates on major projects for the area:

The I-496 Pave the Way Project is set to be completed over the next few weeks! Paving on westbound lanes is nearly finished with ramps to be closed nightly for construction through November 6th.

The Coleman Road Extension is now complete and open to the public!
We joined partners from across the region to celebrate this great example of collaboration between local governments, policy makers, and community organizations with the ultimate goal of better connecting our region.

The long-awaited Capital City Market opened in Downtown Lansing on October 14th. The small-format Meijer store features locally grown and made products and is located on the ground floor of the Gillespie Group's BLOCK600 development. The former Lansing City Market building will be leased to a Detroit-based development firm with plans to transform the space into the Lansing Shuffleboard & Social Club. This comes as part of the city's effort to capitalize on the increased activation of the riverfront area by Rotary Park. Learn more from the State News.

The Sparrow Health System announced their plans for a three-story, 100,000-square-foot outpatient surgery center and medical office facility, an investment estimated at $30 million. The new expansion will be located on the corner of Michigan and Pennsylvania avenues, and will offer local patients with one-stop access for their healthcare needs.

|
|
General Motors has announced plans to invest $100 million into the Lansing-Delta Township Assembly plant to manufacture the next generation of the Acadia. The return of the Acadia to Lansing-Delta assembly brings added confidence for future investments and employment opportunities in the area. Read the full announcement here.
