Upgraded Wellhead Protection Viewer Coming Soon! |
Updates to our online Wellhead Protection Viewer are on track to be completed by the end of this month, including an expanded, region-wide inventory of potential groundwater contamination sources. Communities can use this data to assess and plan for the protection of our drinking water. |

Traffic may have looked a bit lighter over the past few months, but work on necessary repairs and improvements to our regional transportation system continues! Here are some of the latest updates on major projects for the area: |

|
Work on I-496 has been progressing on schedule! Eastbound lanes reopened on July 20th, with work expected to continue on westbound lanes through November.

Waverly Road is open at both project bounds from St. Joseph Street to Lansing Road as of August 3rd! Work to complete the shared-use pathway will continue over the next few weeks.

Coleman Road is nearing completion!
The top coat of asphalt has been laid and is now awaiting final pavement markings.

Jolly Road from Hagadorn to Dobie Road is in the final phase of completion, including the addition of new non-motorized facilities. Final pavement markings are coming soon!

Preventative maintenance work began on the Meridian Road bridge over I-96 on August 10th and is expected to continue through October. Detours for Meridian Road will be posted and periodic nighttime closures are to be expected.

Our friends at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce launched a resource webpage back in March for businesses, community organizations, and residents of the Greater Lansing area to support those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. |

Though engagement efforts have taken on a different look this year, taking the time to respond to the survey is essential to ensuring our region receives the federal funding we need to plan for the future. You can fill out your census form online until September 30th.

Region to Receive Over $312 Million in New Infrastructure Investment |
The State Transportation Commission authorized the governor's new “Rebuilding Michigan" program in February. This allowed the Michigan Department of Transportation to sell $3.5 billion in bonds for 49 critical interstate and bridge projects and accelerate rebuilding for 73 additional state-owned projects! |

Major Retailers Announce Their Move into Greater Lansing |
Over 1,000 new jobs for Greater Lansing were announced in March! Major employers, most notably Amazon, Morley, and Wayfair, are establishing facilities in communities across the region, including Delta Township and Meridian Township. Great news for Greater Lansing's economic resilience! |
