October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and this year's theme is "Secure Our World," highlighting the importance of safeguarding our digital lives in an increasingly interconnected world. From updating passwords to backing up data, there are many ways to celebrate cybersecurity this month and every month! Scholarship Appreciation Breakfast
On October 8, we hosted a catered event honoring our 2024-2025 student scholarship recipients and our generous donor benefactors. President Bradford L. Sims offered the event's opening remarks, emphasizing the positive impact our alumni, sponsors, and partnerships can have on the success of our students.

Fall Career Conference and Fair
Our bi-annual career fair held on October 11 was a huge success! In preparation, students were invited to participate in a week-long workshop series for resume building, knowledge sharing, and confidence boosting. Thank you to the many new and returning employers who joined us during our booth expo to speak to students about career opportunities.

Award-Winning Film Director Visits Capitol Tech Campus
On September 27, Astronautical and Space Engineering Program Director, Jeff Volosin, hosted a movie night event in collaboration with our student organization, the Nightwatchers Club. The event brought special guests, including notable Canada-based filmmaker, Akash Sherman, to our campus and featured a screening of his award-winning space movie "Clara." The event opened up a discussion about the intersection between art and engineering and the amazing ideas, collaboration, and learning that can come from this.

Dr. Ron Martin Speaker at AI and Cyber Conferences
Professor of Practice Dr. Ron Martin will be a featured speaker at several upcoming engagements currently scheduled for Fall 2024 through Spring 2025. His abstract, "Executive Order (EO) 14110 The Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence" will be the focus of many of his presentations, as well as his discussion on "Critical Infrastructure Adoption of Zero-Trust Protection."

Capitol Tech Partners with Cloud Security Alliance
We are proud to announce a new partnership with Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to enhance student and professor access to specialized cybersecurity training in cloud services. The CSA will grant our cybersecurity instructors the opportunity to teach CSA training courseware for the purpose of educating students on cloud security best practices, standards, and protocols, thus preparing students for the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge
(CCSK) examination.
