Pride Month: Alumni Spotlight


June is Pride Month, a celebration of resilience, visibility, and the right to exist authentically in every space—including the world of STEM. With both a B.S. in Cyber and Information Security and an M.Res. in Cyberpsychology, Capitol Tech Alumnus Elliot Eleos uses their voice and experiences to advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in tech while building a career in their field.

Black Girls Code DMV Summer Camp at Capitol Tech


From June 23-27, Black Girls Code hosted their DMV Summer Camp experience for local youth ages 10–18 on our campus. BGC experts and our faculty worked together in empowering participants, teaching them hands-on skills in computer science, programming, and AI. We also received a visit from our local press,

The Laurel Independent, to view the participants' final projects showcase.

HAL June 2025 Monthly Meeting

Capitol Tech Professor Speaks at HAL Astronomical Meeting


On June 19, astronautical engineering professor Marcel Mabson was invited to speak at the Howard Astronomical League (HAL) monthly meeting at the Robinson Nature Center in Columbia, MD. During his presentation, Prof. Mabson outlined the many objectives of ourAE program, as well as a year-in-review of our ALPHA Observatory research.
