October 2026 Edition

October is here, and it is hard to believe how quickly 2026 is moving. With the fourth quarter underway, many business owners are looking back at what they have accomplished and thinking about what they want to finish before December.

This time of year also means playoff baseball. I always enjoy watching October games because they are a good reminder that preparation matters. After a long regular season, the teams still standing have put themselves in position to capitalize on the opportunities in front of them. Running a company works much the same way. The work you put in month after month can make a real difference when important decisions come around.

That is especially true for insurance and risk management. Your business evolves over the course of twelve months, and your coverage strategy should keep pace. A captive insurance solution can give business leaders greater control and flexibility while offering another way to handle exposures that may not fit well within a traditional program.

At U.S. Captive, we enjoy partnering with clients who approach risk thoughtfully. We get to know each company and its goals before determining if a captive makes sense.

There are still a few months left on the calendar, and plenty of time to move forward on the goals you set in January. I encourage you to review where you stand, look toward 2027, and confirm your risk plan is ready.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. As always, if you have questions or would like to learn more, please give us a call or visit the Captive 101 section on our website.

Sincerely,

Larry Papola

Why Form a Captive?

There are numerous potential advantages to forming a captive insurance company. Captive insurance companies are formed for both economic and risk management purposes. By forming a captive insurance company, a business can dramatically lower insurance costs in comparison to premiums paid to a conventional property and casualty insurance company.
