Generosity is Contagious:

Highlighting our awesome supporters!

Care Ring's Nurse-Family Partnership recently received an allocation of CARES ACT funds from the NC Pandemic Relief Office during a time when families continue to suffer from the economic impacts of the pandemic. These funds were used to support our nurses and provide direct support to our moms with infant safety equipment, phones to talk to their nurses, and basic essentials such as food, diapers and formula. This has been particularly important for immigrant moms and babies served by Care Ring as they may not be eligible for many financial relief programs.

Primary care for people with modest resources

Care Ring has received 2 awards from the American Heart Association for our efforts to improve the cardiovascular health for patients with Type 2 diabetes and those with high blood pressure.

More than 30 million Americans live with diabetes, and cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for people living with type 2 diabetes. Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a leading risk factor for heart attacks, strokes, and preventable death in the U.S. In addition, there are 116 million U.S. adults living with high BP and less than half of those people have their BP under control – making both diagnosing and effectively managing hypertension critical.

To earn the awards, organizations must commit to improving the health of their patients through high quality care related to these conditions, and management of cardiovascular risk factors with the ultimate goal of reducing cardiovascular deaths, heart attacks, and strokes. Your donations allow us to provide things such as at-home blood pressure and glucose monitors so our patients can keep an eye on their conditions between visits, avoiding potentially catastrophic & costly health emergencies.

Physicians Reach Out (PRO):

Comprehensive healthcare for those most in need

Geraldine P. heard about PRO through a friend. After enrolling, her PRO doctor detected problems with Geraldine's gallbladder. Luckily, the problem was manageable with a change in diet. Geraldine has lost 15 pounds, improved her overall health, and prevented any need for surgery. Geraldine says about the program "Everything has been just great" and wants you to know how much she appreciates the help she has received.

Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP):

Helping first-time parents succeed

You made spirits bright this holiday season!

On December 5th, with the assistance of 14 volunteers, our NFP Nurses delivered meals and toys to 142 NFP families. Thank you to our volunteers, and everyone who donated toys for the children, and the supportive monetary gifts that also made it possible! Special thanks to Project Glimmer who donated gifts for the mothers.

With COVID-19 cases again on the rise, our patients, who were already living on the margins, continue to be severely impacted.

We are serving more patients than ever, while still maintaining great outcomes such as controlled diabetes and lower blood pressure.
