New Daily Payment Rates for Foster Parents Going Into Effect
By now, you should have received a letter from DFS detailing changes to the monthly foster care payment daily rate, which is changing. The letter details those changes, along with how you will be paid for placement services.
The new monthly foster care payment daily rates are:
Age 0 - 12: $22.45
Age 13 - 18: $25.42
This change will be reflected starting with your October 2014 payment, which will be for services rendered in September.

Get A Knack for NAC
How familiar are you with the Nevada Administrative Code, better known as NAC? Here's an important one for you to remember:
Sec. 96-NAC 424.560 #5
All medication must be kept in a locked place, including without limitation, any medication that requires refrigeration. Medication which must be kept with a child pursuant to the instructions of a physician is not required to be kept in a locked place.
Note: In this situation, a safety latch/childproof latch --including magnetic child locks -- is not considered locked.
