PTC Newsletter: Phasing Out the eBook

Download the eBook by April 22, 2026

Hello, Master Trainers and Class Leaders!

Hello, all!

I hope you're all doing well - it's hard to believe we're almost in April already!

As previously mentioned, now that the new materials are available, I'm writing to inform you that the eBook version of The Caregiver Helpbook will be removed from the Extension Store on April 22, 2026. You and your organization can continue to exhaust your stock of The Caregiver Helpbook through June, but as a reminder, beginning July 1, everyone must be using the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook and the new materials.

If you have purchased eBook licenses, please go to the Extension Store and ensure you have a copy of the PDF downloaded to your device. Follow these steps:

Log into the Extension Store account where the eBook purchase(s) was made.
Navigate to your account by clicking "Account" in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Towards the right side of the page, under "Order History," click the link that says "View Digital Products and E-Courses."
Find the eBook purchase and click the red "Link" button.
The file should download to your computer. Navigate to your Downloads folder and look for a PDF titled HS136AE. That is the eBook copy of The Caregiver Helpbook that you can send to caregivers until you've exhausted the number of licenses you've purchased.

If you try to access the eBook after April 22, 2026, you will not be able to download the PDF. It will no longer be available. Please do not wait to download the eBook if you have not done so already. After April 22, 2026, we will only have physical copies of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook available for purchase.

Some reminders about the eBook in general:

The eBook cannot be printed.
You must purchase a license for every individual who is receiving the eBook.
The password to access the eBook is caregiverhelp. You will need the password to access the book and you will have to provide that password to the caregiver(s) receiving the eBook.
The eBook cannot be refunded since it is a digital product.

If you run into any challenges when you try to download the eBook, please let me know (ptcaregivers@iastate.edu). I can't troubleshoot everything related to the Extension Store, but I'll do what I can to support you through this process.

Become a PTC Master Trainer

Our next Master Trainer Training is coming up! Have you completed at least four 6-week caregiver class series as a Class Leader? Do you want the opportunity to train new Class Leaders in your organization and community to expand the reach of PTC?

Join us Wednesday, June 10 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. CT for Master Trainer Training. Cost to attend is $525, which includes the Master Trainer license fee and materials.

To be considered for the training, please complete the Master Trainer application.

Materials and Resources

Class Leaders

Class Leader Materials can be accessed through the ISU Extension Store (see note below) and the PTC Website.

Review the Class Leader How-To Guide for step-by-step instructions for accessing PTC materials.
Report your class series by using the 'add an upcoming class' or 'add a completed class' forms.
Find additional Class Leader resources on the PTC website, including event promotion and marketing materials
Order eBooks or workbooks for any upcoming caregiver class series through the ISU Extension Store.

Master Trainers

Master Trainer Materials can be accessed through the ISU Extension Store (see note below) and the PTC Website.

Review the Master Trainer How-To Guide for step-by-step instructions for accessing PTC materials.
Report your Class Leader Training using the Class Leader Confirmation Form at least three weeks in advance.
Find additional Master Trainer resources on our website, including event promotion and marketing materials
Order eBooks or workbooks for any upcoming Class Leader Training through the I SU Extension Store.

Note: When you set up your ISU Extension Store account, be sure to use the primary email address that PTC uses to contact you. You must be logged in to your account to access the materials and the workbook.
