Twentynine Palms Rotary Carnival Returns to Luckie Park

March 20-23, 2025


Get ready for four days of non-stop fun as the Twentynine Palms Rotary Carnival returns to Luckie Park from March 20-23, 2025!


Experience the magic of the carnival with rides for all ages! Test your skills at classic game booths like balloon pop, hoop shoot, and more, or indulge in a variety of mouthwatering treats from carnival food stands and local vendors.


Entry to the carnival is free, and ride tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase. Save money by buying your pre-sale unlimited ride wristband for just $35 starting February 11, 2025! Pre-sale wristbands are available at the Bowladium Family Fun Center, Twentynine Palms Parks & Recreation office, and the Twentynine Palms Visitor Center.


Wristbands are valid for one day only and will be $45 if purchased on-site. Individual ride tickets and ticket sheets will also be available at the event.


Ticket Pricing:

  • Pre-Sale Unlimited Ride Wristband: $35 (available through March 21, 2025, at 5PM)
  • On-Site Unlimited Ride Wristband: $45
  • On-Site Sheet of 40 Tickets: $35
  • On-Site Sheet of 24 Tickets: $25
  • On-Site Single Tickets: $2 each
  • Rides require 4-7 tickets per ride


Kick off the carnival with $2 Ride Night on Thursday, March 20, from 5PM to 9PM! Take advantage of this one-night-only offer and enjoy rides at a discounted price.

ALL-STAR BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 

March 22-23, 2025 


Outstanding athletes from across Southern California's Park & Recreation basketball programs have been selected to participate in the Twentynine Palms All-Star Basketball Tournament


Mark your calendars! Twentynine Palms is proud to host the All-Star Tournament March 22-23 at the following locations:


  • Twentynine Palms Community Center
  • Twentynine Palms Junior High Gym
  • Twentynine Palms High School Gym


We are seeking volunteers to work the Score Table during the tournament. We need volunteers on Friday evening and throughout Saturday and Sunday. Please call the Parks and Recreation office at 760-367-7562 if you are interested in volunteering. 


Come out and support our home teams as they battle for the championship! Let’s fill the stands and show our hometown pride!

MORONGO BASIN SPELL-A-THON 

March 22, 2025 


The Friends of the Morongo Basin Libraries are partnering to promote literacy in the Basin and benefit your local library. The Spell-A-Thon raises money to help the nonprofit library groups in the high desert provide services, like the popular Summer Reading Program, for children and adults in the Morongo Basin.


The Annual Spell-A-Thon will be held at the Luckie Park Activity Center from 9am to noon. Space is limited to the first dozen teams to sign up, the deadline for sign up is 6 p.m. on March 14.


You don’t have to be an amazing speller to have fun and help your team. Each team of 3 people will work together to spell given words in rotation. Your team can be made up of friends, co-workers, or fellow service club members. A schedule, pledge sheet, rules and practice words will be sent to each team ahead of the competition.



Cash prizes will be awarded to the team that spells the most words correctly. Drawings for door prizes for spectators as well as the team members will be available.

Historic Plaza Chalk Festival and

Arts Fair 

March 23, 2025 


Friends of The Historic Plaza is excited to announce an open invitation for artists of all skill levels to participate in the upcoming Historic Plaza Chalk Festival and Arts Fair! Set in Twentynine Palms’ beautiful Historic Plaza, this event promises to be a celebration of creativity, community, and local talent in a beautifully historic setting.


We are calling on local organizations, galleries, and independent artists throughout the Southern California area to showcase their work and be part of this family-friendly public art experience. This is a unique opportunity to share your artistic vision with the community, gain exposure, and connect with your fellow artists. 

How to Participate:


  • Juried Chalk Art Competition – Open to artists of all skill levels, featuring 4'x4' squares and cash prizes for winners. (All materials provided.)


  • Artist Booths – Individual artists can rent booth space to display and sell their work.


  • Nonprofit Booths – 501(c)(3) organizations can reserve free booth space to promote upcoming programs or sell artwork as a collective.

FREE RED CROSS COMMUNITY TRAINING

Saturday April 5, 2025, 10AM-11AM


The Red Cross is offering a free emergency preparedness training session to help individuals and families prepare for unexpected situations. The training will cover essential skills such as first aid, creating emergency kits, and developing an evacuation plan. Participants will learn how to respond effectively to natural disasters, accidents, and other emergencies.


This hands-on session is open to the public and is designed for people of all ages and experience levels. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your readiness and keep your loved ones safe in times of crisis. Participants will have an opportunity to win a 5-person survival backpack!

Inaugural City Youth Olympics

We are thrilled to announce the first-ever City Youth Olympics, created and hosted by the City of Twentynine Palms Youth Council. Come out and be part of this unforgettable community event. Grades 1st through 12th are all encouraged to join!


This exciting event gives the youth in our community a chance to engage in a morning of free, fun-filled friendly competition featuring:

Special Olympics Southern California

Inland Empire is coming to Twentynine Palms this spring!


The mission of SOSC is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. These programs offer individuals ongoing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and share gifts, skills, and friendships with their community.


  • All Special Olympics programs are FREE for athletes and their families.
  • Athletes compete in divisions based on gender, age, and ability.
  • Participants must be at least 8 years old to compete.
  • All activities reflect the values, traditions, and ceremonies of the modern Olympic Movement.


Special Olympics Southern California Special Olympics Southern California enriches the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports, education, and athlete health. By promoting inclusion and community engagement, the organization creates opportunities for personal growth and empowerment.

Yoga for All


The City of Twentynine Palms is about to get a little more flexible, as new yoga classes, led by Doula Supinda Siri, are set to launch on January 8, 2025. These classes, designed for all ages and skill levels, aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment to promote physical and mental well-being.


The yoga classes will be held four times a month on Wednesdays at the Luckie Park Activity Center, located at 74325 Joe Davis Drive. Whether you're a senior, a parent, a teen, or simply someone looking for a midweek reset, there’s a class tailored just for you.
