The Carrie Carpool Cinema Returns
Experience a drive-in like no other! With the Carrie Blast Furnaces as your backdrop and a lineup of can’t-miss features, the stage is set for summer fun.
The Carrie Carpool Cinema is back! After last year's exceptional reception, we couldn't help but offer this unique Carrie Furnaces experience again. Thanks to all of you who made our inaugural season a success!
In just a few weeks—on April 16 and 17—we'll kick start the 2021 season with films shot in and around Pittsburgh. Friday’s feature is August Wilson's Fences, starring Denzel Washington. The Dark Knight Rises, Pittsburgh's favorite Batman movie, will be the main event on Saturday. As a bonus, short films by Braddock filmmaker Tony Buba will be screened as a preview to both features!
Some of the themes from last year have returned—80s Family Night and Classic Horror, in addition to Filmed in Pittsburgh. You'll also want to check out the schedule for Samurai Street Art, America's Pastime, Heavy Metal Menagerie, and Stop Motion Mania.
This year we are adding something a little special to each evening's experience. In April and September, it is the addition of selected film shorts, and every other month will bring something different! If you join us in May, you'll enjoy a live DJ set and graffiti painting session. In July, there will be a hot metal pour before the film—October offers up a ghost tour. We're still finalizing a couple activities, so please check back for final details.
The
full season schedule of feature films is available now; we welcome you to take a look at what coming up. We'll see you soon!
