June arrives following a challenging Spring for the real estate market announcing everyone’s favorite season, Summer. Anchored by the holidays Memorial Day and Labor Day, much hope is placed on the activities of Summer, both in the business world and personal. The housing market needs inventory to arrive on the scene, opening more home-buying opportunities for those who have waited since the 1st quarter to identify their dream home. Inventory statistics still show the lowest available inventory in Los Angeles in over 20 years, with no visible growth in the first 2 quarters. Because of this, sales numbers are down approximately 36% year over year. Home prices are remaining stable, and in some areas showing a slight increase of 3-5% - primarily in the non-luxury categories. In the luxury sector, if not over-priced, properties are receiving reasonable activity. Point in fact, the highest selling residence in California history was just recorded in Malibu at $200M – bought by Beyonce and Jay-Z.
Our Team celebrates another occurrence in June this year, the release of Season 2 on MAX of our reality show Kendra Sells Hollywood. Both Season 1 and 2 are now streaming on MAX and reveal the true activities of our teaching Kendra, the former Playboy companion of Hugh Hefner, how to become a professional real estate agent under our guidance. There are foibles, but at the heart of the show is the sincere reflection of our striving for excellence, not only for our client service but to maintain the highest principles and ethics among our industry colleagues. Kendra fails and succeeds—just like any beginning agent, and my Team and I learn in the process as well. Tune in and let me know what you think.
We are currently representing some of the most exciting, impressive homes from Beverly Hills to Pasadena to the Coast. Although activity has slowed across the board as mentioned above, each of our Sellers is serious and ready to negotiate in good faith. I advise agents and clients that making an Offer is simply asking a Seller the question, “will you do business with me?”. Ask the question, we guarantee a response. Wishing you an easy liftoff to a full season of sun & fun!
