Greetings IMD partners, stakeholders and friends-
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer! I know that many in the District are preparing for the return to school for you or someone in your household, so in this issue, we highlight the many educational opportunities available in the District for children of all ages.
The IMD is also preparing for more housing in the District as we have several projects that will expand access to housing that is affordable, safe and convenient.
These developments will cater to students and staff going to school or working in the IMD, as well as commuters looking for easy access to downtown and the West Loop.
The Lydian is a 279-unit building that is under construction at 1926 W Harrison, next door to the Atrio Apartments at 1922 W Ogden. Pre-leasing will begin in early September with units scheduled for occupancy in early January 2023. A rendering of the completed building is below.
|
We also have Cadence, a 161-unit building with 1- and 2-bedroom units located at 2050 W Ogden Ave. within the Gateway development. Preleasing is set to begin in September.
Finally, the Chicago Lighthouse plans to break ground on August 25th on the Foglia Residences at the Chicago Lighthouse, a 76-unit building offering studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments for qualifying low-income households with an emphasis on residents who are blind, visually impaired, disabled or Veterans. The building is expected to open in 2024.
We have so much to be proud of here in the District. We, at the IMD, welcome your thoughts and feedback on all the changes as we continue to grow.
