The Cathedral of
St. Andrew

Cathedral Life
Christmas Season
Now to the Lord sing praises, all you within this place,
and with true love and charity each other now embrace;
this holy tide of Christmas doth bring redeeming grace.
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy; O tidings of comfort and joy!
Hymn #105 God rest you merry, gentlemen, v. 4
The time is here! Christmas has come!
God rest you merry, St. Andrew's!

Over these next days, we hope and pray to cross paths with you either in-person or online. If you are setting out to join us at the Cathedral for our Christmas celebrations, we wanted to take a moment to review our COVID protocols

Masks are required.
If you are uncomfortable keeping a mask for a good period of time, please join us online!

Distancing is honored.
Your RSVP assists us in managing our space and providing physical distancing to the best of our abilities. Please help us continue to respect good distance.

Ushers will assist you.
If you have RSVPed, check in with the Ushers as you arrive and have your name checked off. The Ushers will help you find the best place for your party to sit.
If you have not RSVPed, please wait under the Aloha Tent. There will be an usher there to gather Contact Tracing information from you. At five minutes before the start of the Mass, the Ushers will be able to start seating you.
**Please note – there is no guarantee there will be seats if you have not RSVPed.

We are profoundly grateful for all you have done to keep each other safe and yourself as healthy as possible– vaccinations and boosters, mask-wearing, distancing, attending to illness if it has come your way – These things working together exemplify that “true love and charity” we sing about in God rest you merry, gentlemen. It is loving your neighbor as yourself in real time, each and every day. May we persist in this holy work through this holy season and into 2022, sharing abroad our “tidings of comfort and joy,” our love for our neighbor, especially now amidst these challenging and difficult time.
Merry Christmas to you and to those whom you love!

Provost and Chaplain, St. Andrew’s Schools

Prayers for the New Year
Almighty and merciful God, through your well-beloved Son Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, you have willed to make all things new: Grant that we may be renewed by your Holy Spirit, and may come at last to that heavenly country where your people hunger and thirst no more, and the tears are wiped away from every eye; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Work of Christmas
From The Mood of Christmas and Other Celebrations, by Howard Thurman
When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among others,
To make music in the heart.
