Catholic Schools Week Mass & Brunch

All CCHS parents and supporters are invited to the Catholic Schools Week Mass and Brunch on Wednesday, January 28. Guests will join our students for all school Mass followed by brunch with a preview number from the Wizard of Oz and a demonstration by the Math Department! Please RSVP to let us know if you can join us!

CCHS is excited to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, January 26 - 30, 2026. Campus Ministry has planned a fun week for our students, faculty, and staff in celebration of our Catholic faith. A schedule for CSW along with themes for each day is available on the CCHS website.

Today is the LAST DAY to RSVP for Winterfest 2026

The Cougar Boosters Club wants to thank the Charlotte Catholic community for your continued support of our athletes, coaches, and Booster Club. Please join us for Annual Winterfest on Saturday, January 24, from 7:00–10:00 PM EVERYONE IS WELCOME!


Due to the forecast, the event will now take place inside the Fine Arts Center, but the fun remains the same - food, spirits, fellowship, and live music.

Winter in Paris Dance

Dance the night away in the city of lights!


Any student bringing a guest from another school may pick up a dance form from the front office. Completed guest forms must be returned by Thursday, February 5, to the Dean of Students Office.

Mandatory Environmental Club Meeting

There will be a Mandatory meeting for the environmental club on Wednesday, January 21 in room 325 at 2:40 PM. This meeting will cover upcoming volunteer opportunities. The meeting will last about half an hour, so please be on time for an important presentation!

Notre Dame Vision 2026

Vision is a week-long summer opportunity for students who want to grow deeper in their faith while experiencing the life of the University of Notre Dame. Vision’s focus is to create a space for students to understand their stories and to recognize how God is active in their lives and is calling them to holiness.  Registration is now open.

Clothing Drive for Levine's Children's Hospital

The Charlotte Catholic Band is hosting a clothing drive to support patients at Levine Children’s Hospital. Many patients are admitted unexpectedly and need clothing upon discharge, especially during the colder months. Please help us restock LCH’s closet! New, tagged clothing for all ages (0–21) may be donated in the Fine Arts Center lobby from January 12–23, 2026. Your generosity will help provide comfort and a hopeful start to the new year for young patients and their families. Thank you for your support!

Hugaroo Stuffed Animal Drive | January 20 -23, 2026

Please donate brand-new stuffed animals (6½"–18") to help bring comfort to children healing from illness or trauma. There will be a bin outside of the cafeteria to drop donations.

SATurday Prep Class Winter 2026

Veteran CCHS teachers Chris Yarussi and Jeremy Kuhn offer strategies and guided practice for the Digital SAT to current CCHS students. 

  • The course, totaling 12 contact hours, takes place at CCHS over three Saturdays: January 31, February 7, and February 21. Cost: $220.
  • Participants must bring their assigned CCHS laptop fully charged.
  • Cost: $220.  Early-bird rate thru Friday, January 23: $200. All payments must be received by Friday, January 30, 2026

Portugal Trip 2026 -Sign Up Date Extended!

Rising sophomores, juniors and senior students (Class of 27, Class of 28, and Class of 29), teachers, and administrators from Charlotte Catholic, Christ the King, and Bishop McGuiness High Schools will travel together for an unforgettable 6-day pilgrimage to Lisbon, Porto, and Fatima Portugal—a sacred adventure filled with faith, food, fun, and awe-inspiring beauty. STEAM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Science National Honors Society is again this year presenting the STEAM Lunch Event on Friday, January 30, 2025, from 11:00 - 2:00. It’s where our community of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math professionals come during the lunch to speak realistically with students about their careers and jobs in these fields. It’s such a fun way to promote your field and educate our students, so please consider taking the time to join us. Lunch will be provided. Teacher Appreciation Week Committee Volunteers Needed

The PTO is hosting a Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) Committee interest meeting on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 9:00 AM in the cafeteria. No experience needed - just bring your love and excitement for CCHS, and some theme ideas! TAW is a fun week to spoil all who make Catholic the very best!

COUNSELING CORNER

Presentation on Effective Teen/Parent Communication

Local therapist, Angie Mayo, will lead a presentation on Effective Teen/Parent Communication on Thursday, January 29, at 8:00 AM in the Fine Arts Center. Talking with your teen becomes increasingly difficult as they gain more independence. Angie will address ways to try and draw your teen into productive conversation. She has presented many times at Holy Trinity and was very well received at CCHS last year.

Attention 9th Grade Parents

On Monday, January 12, counselors met with 9th grade students to introduce SCOIR, our college and career planning platform, and helped them activate their accounts. Students can now log in and begin exploring colleges, careers, and planning tools within the system. Parent accounts were also activated, and an invitation was sent to the email address your student provided. Once you receive it, please follow the steps to set up your account so you can stay connected to your student’s progress. Informational Videos: Scoir Parent/ Guardian Overview.

Counseling Presentation for Sophomore Parents

The Counseling Department invites all sophomore parents for an informal presentation on January 26 at 8:00 AM in the Fine Arts Center. We will familiarize parents with sophomore year specific tasks such as AP course applications, continuing extracurriculars, academic progress, and preliminary college preparations and expectations. The counselors will present the same information to sophomores on January 26 during Theology class.

Seniors, we want to celebrate your success!

If you’ve been awarded a merit or athletic scholarship from a college or outside organization, please report it using the Scholarship Reporting Form.

  • To be recognized, your award letter must include your name and the scholarship amount. Upload one letter per submission.
  • Important: Be sure to save a copy of your award letter before notifying a college that you will not attend—once your portal access ends, you may lose that information.
  • Please note: Scholarship award amounts will not be published, but all scholarships reported will be listed in the graduation program.
  • Don’t wait—submit scholarships as soon as you receive them so we can celebrate your achievements all year long!

Men's Volleyball

Come join men’s volleyball - all skill levels welcome!  

  • Preseason workouts: 3:00-4:30 PM | January 20 & 23 and February 3 & 6.
  • Regular season practice: 3:00-4:30 PM beginning February 9.


Men's Tennis Tryouts

Tennis tryouts will be held at Marion Diehl Park on Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17 from 3 PM - 5 PM


In order to try out, you must upload all up-to-date mandatory forms to Dragonfly, on or before February 16. If you have not already done so, please stop by Room 512 to sign up for tryouts.

Jane Osborne Memorial Scholarship

The Charlotte Metro Area Relocation Council (CMARC) is pleased to share information about the Jane Osborne Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship offers a one-time $1,000 award to one qualifying Charlotte-area high school senior. The scholarship is open to current seniors who relocated to the Charlotte area anytime between 8th grade graduation and 12th grade. Applications are due by March 2, 2026. Seniors who believe they are eligible should come to the Counseling Office to pick up an application.

Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship

Applications are now open! This award recognizes North Carolina high school seniors who plan to attend a postsecondary program in North Carolina next fall. Submit a short essay and your application by February 8, 2026Apply HERE!

Lift Up Carolinas Scholarship Applications Now Open!

Lift Up Carolinas (formerly Assistance League of Charlotte) has opened its 2026 scholarship application season, running November 30, 2025 – March 22, 2026. Seniors can apply HERE. More information is available at liftupcarolinas.org.

 

Scholarships are available for seniors attending a Mecklenburg County high school who are either planning to enroll full-time at one of the 17 UNC system campuses (min. 3.0 weighted GPA and 1100 SAT / 21 ACT) OR planning to enroll full-time at CPCC (min. 2.5 weighted GPA).

An Evening with Dr. John Wood

St. Ann Church is welcoming Dr. John Wood, Founder and President of Extraordinary Mission, on Wednesday, January 28, at 7:00 PM. Dr. Wood will share a presentation on The Last Words of Christ: The Cure to the Seven Deadly Sins. This event is geared toward parents, but children are welcome as well.

Inclusion Rocks Concert

The Inclusion Rocks Festival is an annual celebration, bringing community together to support inclusive education across Catholic Schools. The festival will take place at Charlotte Catholic High School on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 1:00 - 7:00 PM.

Guatemala Mission Trip

If God is calling you to serve the poor, the St. Vincent de Paul church provides a special opportunity in the form of mission work to our brothers and sisters in El Carmen, Guatemala.
