MEMORARE TO THE SACRED HEART
Remember, O most kind Jesus, that none who have had recourse to Your Sacred Heart, implored its assistance, or called for mercy, have ever been abandoned. Filled, and animated by this same confidence, O divine Heart, Ruler of all hearts, I fly to You, and oppressed beneath the weight of my sins, I prostrate myself before You. Despise not Your unworthy child, but grant me, I pray, an entrance into Your Sacred Heart. Sustain me in all my combats and be with me now, and at all times, but especially in the hour of my death. O gracious Jesus! O amiable Jesus! O loving Jesus! Amen.

Hello again folks,
In St. Paul's second letter to Timothy, he mentions something that I find to be quite profound. He tells Timothy that he’s grateful to God as he remembers him [Timothy] constantly in his prayers, day and night (2 Tim 1:3).
St. Paul’s great act of love for Timothy is seen as he remembers him in his prayers. The verse can further be read as St. Paul giving thanks to God for constantly putting into his mind the remembrance of his spiritual son. St Paul finds himself very favored that God helps him to remember Timothy. I would say too that I find myself favored as I remember you all in my prayers.
Prayer is an act of love, and it is a good way for us to show love to our neighbors. We should always pray constantly for those whom we love, we should pray for our families and friends, we should pray for Holy Mother Church, the pope and all ministers, we should pray for our schools, parishes, classmates and teachers, we should pray for our nation and its policies, we should pray for the souls in purgatory and as scripture reminds us, we are to pray for those who hurt or persecute us. We should always make an effort to spend time in prayer, and there’s quite a lot that we can pray for.
So, here’s a challenge for you this week; make a list of those whom you would love to pray for daily. Try to include in this list those who have hurt you, and someone whom you may have hurt. And here’s more, don’t just make the list, pray for them daily!
You can certainly pray for each name and their intention individually, or you can list them off as intentions as you begin a devotion or attend Mass. Let’s love and pray for one another!
God bless,
Fr. Chinonso

The Penguin Project – Mentor Opportunity
The Penguin Project pairs peer mentors with young artists who have developmental or learning disabilities. Over three months, students build friendships, rehearse, and perform in a musical production.
This year, we are presenting Seussical Jr., and the program has grown so much that we now need additional mentors. We are especially looking for male mentors to help balance the team.
There is no cost to participate, and no theatre experience is needed—just a willingness to support and be a good friend.
Please visit the Theatre Charlotte website for more information. Questions can be directed to Dr. Maria Leahy or Penguin Project Artistic Director, Chris Timmons. and feel free to reach out with any questions or interest. Save the date to attend our performances on June 19-21.
