The Hail Holy Queen Prayer
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Dear Charlotte Catholic Families,
We want to make you aware of an update regarding the Canvas service interruption that occurred on May 7.
Canvas parent company Instructure has informed schools that the disruption was the result of unauthorized activity involving a vulnerability connected to certain Free-For-Teacher Canvas accounts. (Charlotte Catholic does not use the Free-For-Teacher Canvas accounts.) During the incident, some users across the Canvas platform may have briefly seen altered pages while logged in. Instructure responded by temporarily placing Canvas into maintenance mode while they investigated and secured the system.
According to Instructure and their independent forensic investigators:
- There is currently no evidence that Charlotte Catholic user credentials were obtained.
- There is no evidence that additional data was accessed or removed.
- The unauthorized activity did not establish ongoing access within school accounts.
- Canvas has since been fully restored and is operational.
As part of their response, Instructure has temporarily shut down all Free-For-Teacher Canvas accounts while they continue strengthening security measures across the platform.
Our technology team has been monitoring the situation closely and remains in communication with Canvas/Instructure. At this time, we do not believe any additional action is required from students or families.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during the interruption. We will continue to share updates should additional information become available.

The Penguin Project – Mentor Opportunity
The Penguin Project pairs peer mentors with young artists who have developmental or learning disabilities. Over three months, students build friendships, rehearse, and perform in a musical production.
This year, we are presenting Seussical Jr., and the program has grown so much that we now need additional mentors. We are especially looking for male mentors to help balance the team.
There is no cost to participate, and no theatre experience is needed—just a willingness to support and be a good friend.
Please visit the Theatre Charlotte website for more information. Questions can be directed to Dr. Maria Leahy or Penguin Project Artistic Director, Chris Timmons. and feel free to reach out with any questions or interest. Save the date to attend our performances on June 19-21.
