Prayer for the month of November

November is dedicated to the holy souls in purgatory.
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Our Lady of Mercy and St. Joseph pray for us.

News for CCHS Parents

CCHS Christmas Project: It is once again time for our annual CCHS Christmas Project. For those of you new to CCHS, this is something the CCHS community has been part of for more than 30 years. Every Christmas, Charlotte Catholic supports Catholic Charities in their efforts to provide Christmas gifts to children who otherwise would have no presents for Christmas.
  • Each homeroom has been assigned a child from Catholic Social Services to “adopt” for this project. Please ask your student or contact your student’s homeroom teacher for more information regarding this project and the child assigned to his/her homeroom. You may donate directly to this project through the school store using the link below.
  • IMPORTANT: We cannot accept checks only online donations, cash, and Visa gift cards. If you purchase a gift for the family, you may send it with your child to give to their homeroom teacher.
  • Deadline is Thursday, December 9.
  • Click here for the school store to donate: Adopt a Family Donations
Counselors' Corner

A college representative will meet in-person, or virtually where indicated, at CCHS with any Sophomore, Junior or Senior student that is interested. A counselor is also present.
  • A college rep is the person who reads the application for admission so a face-to-face meeting will serve the student well.
  • Student must print a screenshot of the SCOIR registration and have their teacher sign it as their pass.
  • Students need to remember that they are representing CCHS at these meetings so come with some good questions and your best behavior.
  • The visits will be listed each Friday for the following week and a complete list is available on SCOIR.
  • CCHS students are required to wear a mask while meeting with a college representative.

COVID-19 Information

COVID Protocols and Procedures: If a student is going to be out of school due to COVID (positive test and/or exposure), please contact Kathie Holder, CCHS school nurse at kaholder@charlottecatholic.com or 704-543-0139. The nurse’s office will notify the attendance office as well as the student’s teachers, counselors and school administrators. Please do not contact the teachers or counselors to report. They will be made aware and make any necessary arrangements with the student AFTER receiving verification from the nurse regarding a COVID-related absence.

If any student wishes to request an exemption to the mask mandate, please click the link here DOWNLOAD EXPEMPTION FORM. You may then click the FACE COVERING EXEMPTION FORM RETURN to submit your form, or return to the school nurse. Please reference the proclamation, page 3, item D for stated exceptions. The proclamation can be found here: CITY/COUNTY PROCLAMATION.
Quick Resources
Attendance
24-hour Attendance Hotline 704-716-2418
* Please follow these procedures *
Early Dismissal: If your student needs early dismissal, please have them bring a note to the attendance office first thing in the morning with their name and exact time of dismissal. This will allow your student to leave school without a parent entering the building to sign them out.
Return to school after an absence: A parent note is needed for documentation after any student absence.

Reminder from the Attendance Office regarding disruptions to the school day:
In addition to a high number of students arriving late to school, there has been an excessive amount of last minute requests for dismissals for appointments during the school day. We understand that sometimes appointments during the school day may be unavoidable, however we ask that, as much as possible, families plan ahead and physical notes are brought to the attendance office in the morning before homeroom, and that dismissals are planned so that the times are at class change. It is very disruptive to have so many students coming and going during class time.

The school Cafeteria is open before school, during break and all 3 lunches. Cash or a student account may be used for purchase.
