Food Drive for Our Lady of Consolation and the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen

The Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive for Our Lady of Consolation and the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen. Please place non-perishable food items along the first-floor hall outside Campus Ministry. All donated items will be delivered Friday, November 21. Thank you, in advance, for your generous hearts.

Thanksgiving Food Box Collection

CCHS SAAC and CCHS Athletics have a long standing tradition of helping the Charlotte Rescue Mission with their Annual Thanksgiving Food Box Drive, CCHS is collecting and distributing Thanksgiving Food Boxes and Frozen Turkeys to help families in need this holiday season. We have a goal of 100 boxes.

Here’s how the Cougar Community can help:

CCHS Athletics will drop the frozen turkeys and boxes to the Charlotte Rescue Mission in one delivery.

Together, we can make Thanksgiving brighter for everyone! For questions, please reach out to Caitlin Barlow or Kevin Christmas

Spread Some Christmas Cheer!

The Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is once again spreading holiday joy by creating Christmas care packages for our active military members. This cherished tradition brings a touch of home to those serving away from their families during the holidays.

We’d love to include as many new names as possible this year!

If your family member has received a care package in the past—or you’d like to add someone new—please send their mailing information to Ms. Chamberlain by Friday November 21. If there are any special needs/request, please include them in the email.

PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR STUDENTS

Adopt-a-Family Christmas Project

For nearly 40 years, Charlotte Catholic has partnered with Catholic Charities to support families in need at Christmas. This year, each homeroom is sponsoring a child (or in some cases, two children or a parent).

Because of the short timeline, we encourage families to donate Visa gift cards, which allow parents to purchase gifts directly. If you prefer, you may also donate through the online store's Adopt a Family Donations page. All donations are due by Friday, December 12. Thank you for helping us bring joy to families this Christmas season!

Suicide Prevention Resources

Thank you to Nikki Warren '91, St. Gabriel’s teacher, CCHS alumna, and former CCHS parent, for sharing her family’s story and helping raise awareness for suicide prevention with our Freshmen Health students on Wednesday. Nikki will return in the spring to speak with Freshmen enrolled in Health next semester.

We encourage families to visit the CCHS Counseling Webpage for suicide prevention resources. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings of self-harm, do not hesitate to reach out.

Gratitude Wall

The PTO has partnered with the Mental Health Club to create the "Cougars PAWS for Gratitude Wall" where students can write what they are grateful for to be displayed throughout the month of November. If you are a student interested in adding a note of gratitude to the wall, please see Mrs. Tesch or Mrs. Clementi in the Counseling Office.

Pink College Day Request Forms

Students are permitted a total of six (6) college days that are excused absence to visit colleges and universities; these days may be taken during a students junior and senior year. As outlined on page 15 in the student handbook, a pink college day request form must returned to the Attendance Office before the proposed visit to be documented as an excused absence.
