Holy Mary, Mother of God and Queen of Martyrs, I do this day choose you as my model, protectress, and advocate. Receive me as your special servant, as a partaker in your sufferings. Give me strength always to remain close to Jesus your Son who died on the cross for me. Accept every good work that I may perform and offer it to your Son for me. Presidential Service Award: After the All-School Mass on September 17, CCHS will be honoring students who have been recognized as recipients of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for the 2024-2025 school year.

“In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.”

Future Cougar Tailgate

CCHS is excited to host families from our MACS lower schools for a tailgate prior to the Varsity football game on Friday, September 19. This annual event welcomes several hundred families to the campus for an evening of food, fun and football.

Parents- we need your help to keep the tradition going. Please sign up if you are able to help set up and provide oversight during the event. This is a fun event to volunteer and see our CCHS community in action.

JOIN - Please support the CCHS PTO by paying your dues (one membership per family). Volunteering is not required, but IS appreciated! Your dues help fund the "extras" that make school special - like the Homecoming Dance, Teacher Appreciation Week, student treats, and much more! Please also consider donating to our teach/staff funds now to avoid the holiday and year-end rush.

Attention Parents: We invite you to attend the Power of Parents Event

• Wednesday October 8 at 6:00 PM in the Fine Arts Center.
• Sponsored by MADD, the Power of Parents workshop is a research-based program to educate and empower parents to have open dialogue with their teens regarding the dangers of substance use and impaired driving.
• Law enforcement and an Assistant District Attorney will be present to discuss the legal implications of underage substance use. We highly encourage you to attend.

September is Suicide Prevention Month

September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized topic. We use this month to shift public perception, spread hope, and share vital information to those affected by suicide. Our goal is to ensure all people have access to necessary resources to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help. The Counseling department would like to highlight some resources available on the CCHS website.

CAMPUS MINISTRY

Adoration Sign Up

CCHS has a weekly opportunity to come before Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration every Friday from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM. This is a wonderful time of Heart to Heart prayer with Jesus. 

We need committed adorers to sign up to help keep Jesus company during these times. Please consider signing up to commit to an hour, or at least 30 minutes of prayer time each week.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES & COMMUNITY EVENTS

Join the St. Patrick Cathedral High School Choir

The St. Patrick Cathedral High School Choir is looking for new members to join us at St. Patrick Cathedral in Charlotte. As the Mother Church of the Diocese of Charlotte we welcome all students in grades 9-12 from all parishes. This is your chance to lend your voice to monthly Saturday evening Masses and special celebrations, improve your musical skills, and be a part of a dedicated and inspiring group.

No experience is needed - just a passion for singing! Come share your talent with us and help us create beautiful music.

Chameleon's Journey - Grief Camp: Opportunity for teens to help heal through the grieving process. Campers report the best part of the experience is participating with people their own age!

The camp will be held Oct. 11 & 12 at the YMCA Camp Thunderbird facility on Lake Wylie.
