Remember, O most kind Jesus, that none who have had recourse to Your Sacred Heart, implored its assistance, or called for mercy, have ever been abandoned. Filled, and animated by this same confidence, O divine Heart, Ruler of all hearts, I fly to You, and oppressed beneath the weight of my sins, I prostrate myself before You. Despise not Your unworthy child, but grant me, I pray, an entrance into Your Sacred Heart. Sustain me in all my combats and be with me now, and at all times, but especially in the hour of my death. O gracious Jesus! O amiable Jesus! O loving Jesus! Amen.

As summer comes around and the routine of school dies down, it can happen that the other routines that supplement it are affected as well, especially our prayer life and sacramental life. In this season, new routines begin to form with jobs, camps, and vacations. I wish to encourage you all to develop or adjust your prayer lives within these new routines.
Here are some tips for the summer - I hope they are helpful!
Start Your Day with Prayer
During the school year, we begin our mornings with the Morning Offering. This summer, consider making it part of your daily routine.
- Say this prayer upon rising in the morning.
- If you are able, get on your knees right as you wake up and say your prayers.
Stay Faithful to Mass
We are used to the routine of weekly all-school Masses, do not let this one slip away.
- Find the daily Mass times at the parish near your home or workplace.
- Try to attend at least once a week in addition to the Sunday and Holy Day obligations.
Make Time for Confession
Confessions were offered at school every day, but many parishes also offer regular confession times.
- Check your local parish schedule - do not delay in receiving the sacraments.
Spend Time with the Lord
Adoration was such a privileged time during the school year. Make time for yourself to spend with the good Lord.
- Find churches near you that offer Eucharistic adoration.
- Spend at least five minutes in quiet prayer time in a church daily or a few times a week.
- If getting to a church during the week proves difficult, create a prayer corner in your home and spend time praying there.
Pray the Rosary
Another important devotion is the Holy Rosary.
With this prayer, you contemplate the face of Jesus with the help of His Blessed Mother and meditate on the mysteries of Our Lord's life.
- Pray it as a family if possible, but if not, pray it on your own.
- If a full rosary feels difficult, begin with just one decade.
- Pray while driving, walking, on a work break, in church, or whenever it is convenient.
Read Scripture or Spiritual Books
Another valuable daily devotion is scriptural or spiritual reading.
- Set aside 15 minutes each day for reading. This could be done in the morning or evening before bed.
- You can begin with the Old Testament, but honestly, as long as you start, that's good.
- There are available podcasts, and books that section out the different chapters and books of the bible so that they can be read in a year.
- This is also a great family activity. Reflect on what you read and ask each other questions.
End Your Day with Reflection
Before bed, make an examination of conscience.
- Reflect on what you did well during the day.
- Consider what you could do better tomorrow.
- Thank God for the gift of another day.
This might seem like a lot, but once the routine is developed, you'll find these are beautiful habits to have. Again, I hope this is helpful, and I hope your spiritual life continues to grow throughout the summer!

As summer camps, workouts, sports, band, and other activities bring students to campus, we want to kindly remind everyone about parking guidelines.
Students attending any summer activities should park on the 2nd level or higher in “A” Deck, or in “B” Deck. Please do not park in the following areas:
- Visitor parking spots
- The 1st level of “A” Deck
- Along the curb outside of “A” Deck
- Along the curb outside the gymnasium
These areas are reserved for faculty and staff, many of whom are working throughout the summer.
Parents visiting CCHS during the summer may continue to use the designated visitor parking spots.

Bryant McDermott Scholarship Application Window is Open Through June 12
Bryant McDermott was a proud member of the class of 2027 and was known for his zest of life, love for sports, and a very loyal friend to many. Bryant passed away unexpectedly during his 7th grade year at Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School. The Live Like Bryant Foundation’s mission is to help youth achieve their greatest potential.
This scholarship provided by the foundation is available to any rising senior in the Charlotte Metro that have financial and educational needs as well as participate in extracurricular activities such as our beloved Bryant.
The $18,000 scholarship will cover the 2026-27 private school year. Visit livelikebryant.com to apply!

CCHS Office Hours
The school and school offices will have limited office hours on some days during exam week and over the summer. Please see the schedule below:

May 29 – June 5: 8:00 AM – 2PM

June 8 – August 3: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM Monday-Thursday. The office is closed on Fridays.

July 6-10: The office will be closed.

Spirit Store Orders: The inside store is now closed for the year. Remaining and new online orders can be collected from reception during school hours. Please refer to the Daily for summer hours.
Online ordering is available, and orders will be fulfilled throughout the summer as volunteers are available.
When an order is ready for pick up, you will receive a text notification.

We will be accepting Flynn O'Hara uniforms and CCHS spirit wear. Please make sure the items are clean and in good condition (no holes, stains, etc). Items may be dropped off at the Front Office during business hours.

In response to the national pause of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award program, Charlotte Catholic High School is proud to introduce the Charlotte Catholic Service Award. This award recognizes students who demonstrate a meaningful commitment to serving others through volunteer work in their communities. Rooted in our school’s mission of faith and service, the Charlotte Catholic Service Award celebrates the generosity, leadership, and compassion of our students while continuing the tradition of honoring significant service hours and community impact.

The Penguin Project – Mentor Opportunity
The Penguin Project pairs peer mentors with young artists who have developmental or learning disabilities. Over three months, students build friendships, rehearse, and perform in a musical production.
This year, we are presenting Seussical Jr., and the program has grown so much that we now need additional mentors. We are especially looking for male mentors to help balance the team.
There is no cost to participate, and no theatre experience is needed—just a willingness to support and be a good friend.
