Catholic Charities Appeal in Action:

93 years of serving our neighbor

Seminarians from St. John Vianney College Seminary in Minnesota recently visited and assisted Catholic Social Services in repairing 10 homes of elderly/disabled homeowners. Examples such as this serve to show the Catholic Charities Appeal in action. Here we highlight just a fraction of the year-round work that is funded through donations.

A Joint Statement on the CHOOSE Act from Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi and Bishop Steven J. Raica of Birmingham

The CHOOSE Act program, if passed during the 2024 Alabama legislative session, would provide up to $7,000 per child enrolled at an accredited, participating private or public school through an education savings account funded by a new refundable income tax credit.

Find more information on the CHOOSE Act as well as the joint statement below.

Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi greeted each catechumen and candidate as they continue on their path to being received into the Church during the Easter Vigil Mass at their respective parishes. One more ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for those in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Please pray for and welcome the catechumens and candidates at your parish and thank you to all sponsors for playing a pivotal role in their faith journey.
