Congratulations to Father Perkins and

Deacon Armstrong!


The Archdiocese of Mobile celebrated the ordinations of Fr. Perkins and Dcn. Armstrong to the priesthood and diaconate, respectively, on May 31 at the Cathedral-Basilica

of the Immaculate Conception! Please continue to pray for these two men! Fr. Perkins will begin his ministry as parochial vicar of St. Columba Parish in Dothan in June. God-willing,

Dcn. Armstrong will be ordained to the priesthood at this time next year.

Congratulations to Msgr. Theodore Hay



Msgr. Theodore Hay celebrated the 70th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood! Msgr. Hay, now 101 years old, concelebrated Mass on May 11 at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in Foley with Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi and St. Margaret of Scotland pastor Fr. Paul Zoghby. 

Seminarians earn academic degrees



Congratulations to six Archdiocese of Mobile seminarians who earned academic degrees in May! St. Bede the Venerable Parish celebrates 100-year anniversary!


This May marked the 100 years of St. Bede the Venerable Parish!

To commemorate the anniversary, the parish recently held a spring festival. Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi also celebrated Masses at the parish on May 18.

Permanent Diaconate


May 25, the candidates for the Permanent Diaconate were instituted as Acolytes. They now begin their final year of formation before being ordained next June. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Archdiocese of Mobile recognizes anniversary of historic hospital


The Archdiocese of Mobile and Allen Health and Rehabilitation came together on May 17 to recognize the 75th anniversary of the hospital, which was founded to serve the African-American community in Mobile. It was also the lone hospital in Mobile to employ black physicians.

McEnery of St. Joan of Arc Parish passes away at age 80

Deacon Douglas McEnery who served at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Mobile, died May 28, 2025 at the age of 80.

Fr. David Hamm, S.T. had reason to celebrate, but also said goodbye during the same weekend. 

Fr. Hamm celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination with Mass on May 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Mitchell.
