Are you having a hard time navigating through this time of life with your teenage son/daughter? It’s important to know how to talk to your teen when he/she is going through this difficult time of her life. They may seem out of control, but it’s all normal. Knowing how to you talk to them can help. Here are some tips:

There is an exciting new program being put together for the month of January for students in grades K-6. The new program is called Explorations. This program occurs on Friday evenings from 6-9 at the Covington Latin campus. It is meant to be a night out for both students and parents. Our first event is STEM Night Out being held on January 11th. Students will have the opportunity to explore concepts in Engineering and Chemistry. On January 18th, we will be hosting an Arts Night Out for students interested in Visual and Performing Arts. And finally, on January 25th, we will be hosting a Tech Night Out for students interested in coding in Minecraft and Robotics. Each class costs $50 with a special price of $125 for all three classes. Click the link below for more information.

There are three ways that we will notify you of school delays and closings. In case of bad weather, please check the school website, your E-mail and local TV news. If Kenton County has a one hour delay, SJS will do the same so that we can use the buses. There are times where Kenton County then makes the decision to close, but SJS may remain open. Please be sure to check several times in the morning to see what SJS will be doing.

SJS 6th grader, Luke Smith created Presents for Patients last year. He asked SJS to help him again this year. We had an out of uniform day and each student brought in $1 or more to help Luke purchase gifts for the children that will be in the hospital over Christmas. With the extra donations that we received, we were able to give Presents for Patients--$700.00. Thank you to the SJS family!

Grandparents Day will be held on April 10th, 2019! More information will be coming at a later date.

This safe environment program for children has been mandated by the Bishop of the United States for all employees and volunteers who in any way deal with children in Catholic Schools: therefore if you have not attended a Virtus presentation, then you cannot volunteer - this includes volunteering in the cafeteria, on the playground or as a field trip chaperone. If you would like to register to attend a Virtus session, please go the the website at The password is "TRUST".
