SJS CAREER DAYS
We're excited to announce next week begins our SJS Career days where our students will be exposed to many different jobs across multiple industries. They'll learn about jobs in engineering, medicine, e-commerce, finance, communications, marketing , legal system, public service and many more! 
Grades K-2 will participate on May 8, Grades 3-5  will participate on May 9, and Grades 6-8  will participate on May 10. Be sure to ask your children what they learned and what excited them about the various careers. Many thanks to the SJS parents, family & friends who are speaking to the students next week.
DONUT DAY

STUCO is organizing Donut Day again this year! Donut Day is Friday, May 10. Students may purchase 1-2 donuts for $1.00 per donut. They will be Krispy Kreme donuts. Forms are going home today and are due Monday, May 6 WITH payment.
LANDSCAPING COMMITTEE
Landscaping committee is looking for help - no green thumb needed.
The small but mighty school landscaping committee is looking for additional members to help clean out, plant and maintain our school gardens. The committee has a big project on the horizon and will need help. Commitment is usually only a few hours a month and much of it can be done on your own schedule. If interested, please let Sally Zeck know. 
SJS AAA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

This year, SJSAAA will be granting a $500 scholarship to one boy and one girl from 6th and 7th grade. Applications were passed out the week of Spring Break and can be found on the SJSAAA website. Deadline for entering will be Friday, May 10th. You do not have to have played a sport for SJS to be considered for the scholarship.

2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

Incoming Kindergarten, third and fourth grade classes are full for the 2019-2020 school year. We have started a waiting list and will add an extra classroom if needed.

UNIFORM & SPIRIT WEAR EXCHANGE
Information about the The SJS uniform and spirit wear exchange can be found on Facebook! The Facebook page is SJS Uniform and Spirit Wear Exchange. Here you can sell and purchase.We will not be having a sale at school.
MAY CROWNING

There will be an all school Mass on Monday, May 6th at 9:00 AM. Our first communicants will be a part of the entrance procession. During the Mass, we will have May Crowning with our 8th grade court who were voted on by their classmates. All parents are welcome to attend this special celebration. There will be NO all school Mass on Wednesday, May 8th.


BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

We are currently having a friendly competition of "Who Rules the School - boys vs girls." Please send in Box Tops by May 17th to see who wins! Get your whole family involved! Have your grandmas, grandpas, aunts,uncles, neighbors or co-workers collect for your child! Attached is a list of participating products and a new collection sheet. Happy Clipping! Please be sure to put your child's name on the baggie full of box tops.


OLYMPIC DAY

The St. Joseph students will participate in Olympic Day on Monday, May 20th on the school campus. Please watch for an E-mail from Mrs. Henn asking for parent helpers.

Student Council presented a check to Cindy Carris, a representative from Mary Rose Mission. This money was collected from the SJS students during the penny war.

Volunteers will help sort food that was donated from the Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Interested, please sign up  here  (families are welcome)

 
·           May 25 th  8:15 – 12 pm  -  Isaiah House Outreach
at St. Elizabeth Covington

Isaiah House partners with Master Provisions to provide produce, bread and drinks that are distributed at the outreach to people in need. Volunteers set-up/break-down tables, hand out groceries, carry groceries for guests, direct parking, etc. 
Children over 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

SERRA CLUB

“The Serra Club for Vocations, Northern Kentucky, is currently selling ticket vouchers to the Florence Freedom doubleheader on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Honorary first pitchers for the June 5 games include Michelle Blevins, a Postulant with the Sisters of Notre Dame, Rev. Mark Keene, pastor of St. Agnes Parish, and Barry Henry, a Serra Club member who is scheduled to be Ordained to the Diaconate on May 4, 2019. Ticket vouchers are $10, and can be purchased through the Diocesan Stewardship Office or from individual Serra Club members.
