A Celebration of the Life of
Dr. Gerald Weale
It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I share with you the news that our Organist and Choir Director, Dr. Gerald Weale, died this past Saturday, after a brief illness.

Jerry was deeply knowledgable about church music and he lived his life with gusto, passion, enthusiasm, faithfulness, and the ability to involve others in music as a way to create beauty, bring goodness and draw us into the awareness of the glory of God in our world.

Jerry touched many hearts and the world was changed for the better by his life. We were blessed that we at St. Andrew's had the gift of Jerry as our Organist and Choir Director since May 2014.

A Special Gift
We were blessed that for a number of years, the choirs of St. Andrew's and Prince of Peace, Gettysburg combined to offer The Service of Lessons & Carols. This was an opportunity to be drawn into the glory of exceptional music proclaiming the birth of our savior, Jesus. What a gift that was to all of us!
The service to celebrate Jerry's life will be this Friday, December 7th at 2 p.m.
Prince of Peace Episcopal Church
Gettysburg, PA.

All are welcomed and encouraged to attend his service.
Our choir has been invited to join the choir of Prince of Peace in opening our hearts and singing with joy, gusto and praise to God for Jerry's life.
This Sunday, as we dedicated our votive candle stand, we lit the first candle in honor and memory of Jerry, who touched our hearts and the life of the parish. Let us continue in our prayers for Jerry and those who mourn his death:

O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death, and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that your servant Jerry, being raised with him, may know the strength of his presence, and rejoice in his eternal glory; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
