Hello everybody!
I hope you had a joyful and restful Christmas and New Year, and that you were able to spend meaningful time with family and friends. As we return to our regular routines, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a role in preparing for and celebrating our Christmas liturgies—musicians, liturgical ministers, decorators, staff, and so many volunteers. Your generosity of time and talent helped make the celebration of the Lord’s birth truly beautiful. This weekend, we bring the Christmas season to a close with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, reminding us of our own baptism and our call to live as beloved sons and daughters of God.
I am also very pleased to officially welcome Fr. Wilfredo, who began his ministry as our new associate pastor on January 1. I am grateful for his willingness to serve our parish community. I know you will join me in welcoming him warmly and keeping him in your prayers as he begins this new chapter with us.
As we enter the new year, many of our Bible studies and formation opportunities will be starting up again next week. I encourage you to check the calendar, bulletin, or parish website to find an offering that might be right for you. I’m also delighted to share that we now have over 300 parishioners using the Hallow app. Our next parish Hallow offering, “Stress and Anxiety,” begins on January 12. It includes seven sessions that you can complete at your own pace, with more details available under Learning Together.
Finally, I want to share a brief personal note. I will be having surgery for a partial replacement of my left knee on January 12. Many of you have kindly asked about my limp. After having my right knee done in October 2024, the left one has caught up. I expect to be out for about two weeks for recovery and rehab. I am very grateful for Fr. Wilfredo, Fr. Tony, and our excellent parish staff and I have full confidence that they will take great care of things while I am away. Thank you for your prayers, as well.
Please know of my deep gratitude, as always, for your prayers, your support, and the many ways you make St. Patrick such a vibrant and faith-filled community. God bless you!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
