MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF

Hello everybody!

After almost a week of being closed due to Winter Storm Blair, it was good to welcome everyone back for masses this past weekend and all of our staff, faculty, and students yesterday. Please continue to use caution on campus, especially with icy areas that refreeze overnight and with snow and ice sliding off the roof. My gratitude goes out to all of those, volunteers and staff, who helped in response to the snow and keeping essential processes and ministry happening. Thank you!

What is the next best step in your faith journey? One of our many Bible studies may be the answer. Sign ups are still available for the variety of topics that will begin in a few weeks. Please see below under Learning Together for more information.

There are a few tables left for our Trivia Night on January 25. Information on the tenth anniversary of this community building event can be found in the calendar below. Since I will be competing at a table this year, I would discourage you from signing up if you believe you have a chance of winning. (Full disclosure: my tables over the past 10 years have never come close to winning, but this year will be different!).

I also want to acknowledge the many years of good service to our community by Gale Gowen, our Bookkeeper and Human Resources Manager. She has been dedicated to the good of our staff and parish for the past 10 years, as well as, serving as the Business Manager for St. Boniface Catholic Church for almost 8 years. I am deeply grateful for the contributions she has made to further the mission of both communities. Her last day before retirement will be this Friday, January 17, and I pray for God’s blessing upon her and her family as she enters this new stage of life. Thank you, Gale!

Please join me in continuing to pray for all of those suffering from adverse weather conditions, especially those who have lost everything or continue to be threatened by the fires in Los Angeles. May God protect them and give them strength.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff
