Hi, everyone!
Yesterday was Fr. Jeff’s surgery and we are grateful that it went well. The initial plan was that he would come home within a few days but it looks like he will get to come home today, thanks be to God! He reports that he is doing great. We have had many folks offer to help and while it is deeply appreciated, there are no immediate needs at this time. We will have a box at the Welcome Desk for the next few weeks where you can put letters and cards. We feel certain that these well wishes, along with your prayers, will help Fr. Jeff in his healing! We will be providing a report on his progress each week in this email to keep everyone updated. Thank you for your continued support!
As always, there are lots of events happening around the parish this week. Today, our Disciples for Life ministry is in Frankfort participating in the Kentucky March for Life Event. Please keep them in your prayers.
On Saturday, we will be hosting the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministries workshop called “Living the MTO Mission.” This will be held in Schindler Hall from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The workshop is part of year-long initiative of Moving Toward Oneness which seeks to improve race relations by helping parish groups build relationships across cultures. The speaker is Ralph McCloud, director of the USCCB’s Catholic Campaign for Human Development. For more information, contact the office at 471-2146 or lcollins@archlou.org.
We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week starting on Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. mass! Dr. Sturtzel has written a great reflection on Catholic Schools that will be in the bulletin this weekend and we hope that you will be able to join us for donuts in the Gathering Space. There will be special events throughout the week celebrating the wonderful blessings of our Catholic School community.
Hoping that the week ahead is filled with joy and peace!
Carrie
