MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF
Hello everybody!
If you have been paying attention to the music at Mass recently, you may have noticed that our organ is sounding a little different. Actually, it is sounding much more like it is supposed to!
At the Easter Vigil in 2025, our organ began experiencing some significant problems. After many years of service, aging technology and what we believe were several electrical surges had taken their toll. The organ was never completely silent, but it certainly was not functioning as it should. Last year, we invited parishioners to help us address those problems through our iGiveCatholic campaign, with a goal of $32,000.
Thanks to your generosity, those repairs have now been completed, and the full, rich sound of our organ has returned! We have put together a short video that tells a little more of the story, and I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch it here. Most importantly, I want to thank everyone who helped make this possible. Your generosity is something our entire parish community will continue to enjoy every time we gather for worship. Thanks for Giving Together!
October is also Respect Life Month, an opportunity for us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human person. Throughout the month, our Disciples for Life Ministry will highlight different aspects of the Church's teaching on the dignity of human life, from conception through natural death.
At the heart of that teaching is something both simple and profound: every human life is a gift from God. Our dignity does not depend on our age, our health, our abilities, our accomplishments, or even our circumstances. It comes from being created in the image and likeness of God. And because that dignity belongs to every person, respecting life is more than something we believe. It shapes how we treat one another, especially those who are vulnerable, struggling, or easily overlooked. Through the efforts of our Disciples for Life Ministry, I encourage you to learn, pray, reflect, and act for life throughout this month.
Finally, this week we are celebrating Parish Week with Hallow. One of our pillars of stewardship is Praying Together, and prayer is not limited to what happens when we gather in church. Our relationship with Jesus grows through the rhythm and ordinary moments of our lives, sometimes through just a few quiet minutes each day. Hallow is one of the tools we make available to help parishioners develop that habit of prayer. If you haven't explored it yet, give it a try!
We are called to receive God's gifts with gratitude and use them well for the good of others. May God continue work through all of us to share his light and love. God bless you!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
