Hello everybody!
This is a big week! We will have the PTO sponsored Color Walk on Friday! This important effort shows the amazing level of engagement of our families and raises much needed funds for many different school initiatives each year. I am grateful for all the efforts and enthusiasm that build generosity for our community. Thanks to our PTO, students, families, faculty, staff and sponsors!
This coming weekend is also the kickoff to our participation in the Catholic Services Appeal. We all benefit in multiple ways from the good that the staff and ministries of the Archdiocese of Louisville provide. We are part of a bigger family and, as with every family, we have both benefits and obligations to being part of that family. We have chosen to focus not on dollar amounts this year, but on participation as the key marker of our success. Last year, we had the largest number of families participate as donors in the CSA across the Archdiocese (I think we were just shy of an all time record). This was a great achievement, including the participation of our school families. I hope that you will join me in making a gift, at any dollar amount, to the CSA. Fr. Shayne Duvall, pastor at Holy Trinity, and Fr. Jeff Nicolas, pastor at St. Bernadette, have indicated to me that they are gunning for us. A little friendly competition for the good of others never hurt anyone. Game on!
Also a word of thanks to those who were part of the Men’s Welcome experience this past weekend. The efforts and time that the giving team, receiving team, and staff dedicate are a catalyst for the movement of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of all involved. Thank you!
Deacon Scott wanted me to share that his treatment plan is going well. A recent scan showed significant improvement in previously affected areas. So far so good! He greatly appreciates the care, concern, and prayers of the St. Patrick community. Please keep him and all of those dealing with health issues in your prayers.
May we each recognize God’s bounty in our lives and receive his blessings with gratitude.
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
