Hello everybody!
Last weekend, I shared the State of the Parish and I summarize my remarks in this week’s bulletin article HERE. You can also listen to my homily HERE. You should receive the Accountability Report by email tomorrow and hard copies will be available at the Welcome Desk in the gathering space.
We are hoping to reach our dollar goal for the Catholic Services Appeal by Thanksgiving weekend. As of last Friday we are at 75% of our $180,600 goal. We are looking forward to our school families participation through the contest in the classrooms to help us get there!
We have about 60 angels left on our Angel Tree. This year we added more angels based on the need from expressed by St. Vincent DePaul, Eastern Area Community Ministries, Sister Visitor Center and Centro Latino. Thank you for your generosity in support of children this Christmas.
In conjunction with #iGiveCatholic and the Hallow app, we kicked off advanced giving to raise funds to help repair our organ in church. We are off to a good start - within the first hour of Monday's 2:00 p.m. email, 5 parishioners gave a total of $1200. Thank you! Our goal is $32K. Some have asked about the organ since you do still hear it during Mass on occasion. Yes, it can be played, but only in a very limited way. Our organist currently has to manually cycle through 6–8 settings every time he begins a hymn and it is only a matter of time before functionality fails completely. The repair will restore full, reliable function so the instrument can support our liturgy the way it’s meant to. Please take a moment to watch the VIDEO to learn more about the project. If you are a Hallow app user, our parish prayer for this month is the Surrender Novena, which ties nicely into our iGiveCatholic effort. Hallow has also provided an option to support the organ project directly through the Novena.
And yes—between #iGiveCatholic, Hallow, CSA, outreach, calendars, novenas, and campaigns—you practically need your own executive assistant to keep track of it all! But these opportunities also show something very important: we are part of a vibrant, growing, faith-filled parish. Thank you for being a vital part of it!
May God bless you and those you love.
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
