Hello everybody!
We have entered the second week of Advent and I hope it is going well for you! Your use of the Hallow App has well exceeded expectations. Working with the app team, our goal was to have 125 users by this point, but we are now over 300! Thanks to those who have taken advantage of this tool for the spiritual life. This week, we have two additional opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation: tonight, Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. and on Wednesday at 12:40 p.m. after the noon mass. We have also rescheduled Adoration that was cancelled last Tuesday because of the snow day. It will be Wednesday, December 17 from noon to 3:00 p.m. This weekend, we will celebrate Gaudete Sunday, a moment of joyful anticipation of Jesus Christ’s Nativity. I encourage you to wear rose (or pink) this weekend as an expression of that joy.
Next weekend, December 20/21, we will express our gratitude and celebrate the time Fr. Loi has given to us in ministry here at St. Patrick. We will have hospitality after all the masses and a box for cards to wish him well if you would like to do so. His last weekend will be December 27/28. I have deeply appreciated being a coworker with Fr. Loi in the part of God’s vineyard he has entrusted to our care. May Fr. Loi go with God’s blessing!
Because of your generosity toward #iGiveCatholic last Tuesday, we exceeded our goal of $32,000 to repair our organ! Thank you! I express a particular gratitude, as well, to one family that made a $15,000 donation toward this cause. Our Director of Worship, Julie Roth, is also very grateful and will schedule the repairs to give our organ new life.
I marvel at God’s work through you in our community and am grateful to serve as your pastor. God bless us all!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
