MESSAGE FROM FR. WILFREDO

Hello y’all,

I was not expecting to write to you so soon again, but Father Jeff is out of town on retreat, so please keep him in your prayers. He will be back for masses on Sunday.

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and we have six more weeks of winter, I hope everyone is staying safe and warm with the recent snowstorm and arctic air conditions. We are glad to have your children back to school and worship together. We certainly missed you last week but had to close our campus for the safety of all.

Please be aware of an email or text scam going around using Father Jeff’s name asking you to handle a request. Do not open or reply to that email and please always double check the email address. If you have gotten an email or text from any of us, call the office before you respond.

On behalf of Father Jeff and me, thank you for participating and helping to make our Trivia Night a great success this year! Our net proceeds were $15,075 and will be used to assist with parish and school needs.

I wanted to remind you that Ash Wednesday is on February 18, Check our bulletin and social media for mass times. As you know our Fish Frys are award winning and we are excited to share some new additions this year - pull tabs and kids games! Make sure to bring cash for the pull tabs and kid’s games. There is also a new sign-up software that we are using to recruit Fish Fry volunteers each week. We are inviting all parishioners to consider signing up to help at one of the Fish Frys this year. We need lots of volunteers to pull these events off each week.

Stay warm and God bless you.

Padre Wilfredo

Fish Fry Volunteers Needed

St. Patrick proudly hosts award-winning Lenten Fish Frys! We have a delicious menu and ample space for not only our parish community but the surrounding areas as well. This year will offer some noticeable changes. We will have periodic opportunities for the children of our community with fun activities. We will also be selling pull-tabs! In previous years, our Celtic Athletic Ministry filled the volunteer positions necessary to make these events a success. This year, we are opening up volunteer opportunities for all parishioners to help. All proceeds from the Fish Fry will go to the St. Patrick Church general fund.

In order to keep volunteering organized, we are utilizing Helper Helper, a volunteer management system. If you would like to volunteer for one (or all!) of our fish frys, please click on the link below. The link will take you to the system where you will sign up. It will ask you for your email address which you will then confirm through your personal email. Once you sign up, you will be able to use the system for not only Fish Fry but any volunteer opportunities that are set up in the system. All volunteer positions have job descriptions so that you can find what works best for your gifts and abilities. It's a fast and easy way to share your time and talent! Please use this link to see Fish Fry volunteer opportunities: VOLUNTEER NOW

If you have any questions regarding Helper Helper or signing up, please reach out to Carrie Williamson at cwilliamson@stpatlou.org or by calling the Parish Office at 244-6083, ext. 119.

Important Security Alert: Phishing Scams

Please stay vigilant! Scammers are once again sending fraudulent emails to parishioners impersonating Father Jeff. Please be advised that Fr. Jeff, Fr. Will, and Fr. Tony will never solicit help or gift cards via email or text. While you should always verify the sender's address, please note that sophisticated bad actors can sometimes mimic valid addresses. If you are unsure, do not respond - instead, contact the parish office directly for verification.
