Hello everybody!
As we continue to journey through the Easter Season, we will have our celebration of First Communion on Friday (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday (12:00 p.m.). It is exciting that 83 of our children and families will encounter Jesus in the breaking of the bread for the first time. This pledge of God’s presence with his people and gift of love in himself is a moment of joy. Please pray for our first communicants and their families.
Although recent events and tragedies have highlighted the reality in which we live, as a parish and school community, we regularly review and update our safety and security practices and possible facility improvements. Please see the updated policy below for new procedures for our daily school mass on Wednesdays going forward until the end of the school year. Thanks for your understanding and assistance as we implement this change.
Our roof project continues to move forward, primarily on the church roof at this time, although some progress was made over spring break on one section of the school roof and materials were places so that once school is out for the summer, work can begin on the Schindler Hall and Miles Hall buildings in earnest. All of our flat roofs on our three older buildings are being completely removed and new roofs installed. Our Celtic Ceilidh event was a huge success and netted $84,865 for this nearly $1.5 million project! Thanks to all who helped make this possible!
Fr. Quan left on Monday for four weeks to briefly visit family in London and then head home to Vietnam. Please pray for him on his travels and time with family. I already look forward to his return!
May God bless you and the risen Christ be with us all.
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
Enhanced Security Policy
St. Patrick's faculty, staff, Safety Committee, and Parish Operations Team have been very busy the past month meeting and planning for the short-term and long-term safety of our students, staff, and campus as a whole. We have met with multiple current and former law enforcement officers reviewing current parish school strategies and protocols and where we can improve moving forward.
One immediate adjustment, which we enacted for a recent Grandparent Mass, is the visitor protocol for school Masses at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. If you attend a school Mass moving forward, you will be greeted by a school employee and asked to follow the usual school visitor policy, which includes signing in and wearing a visitor pass sticker (fully filled out). This will include our regular daily Mass attendees. Parishioners and guests must also sign out and discard the visitor pass upon leaving. Furthermore, St. Patrick will have security posted at the church doors for school Masses until further notice. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with these safety enhancements!
