Hello everybody and Happy Derby Week!
I hope you have a chance to make this week special, either through celebrations with friends, slowing down and resting, or skipping town and getting away (the three most popular Derby plans that have been shared with me). My mom is on a trip to Florida with a couple of my aunts. While taking an aunt’s dog for a walk, it decided to chase a lizard and pulled my mom down. She has a slight radial fracture above her wrist. Otherwise, she’s having a good time! Whatever you do, please be safe and make time for God. He is with us always. Due to Derby week, school will be out on Friday and the Parish Office will close early. On Saturday, there will be no confessions at 4:00 p.m. or Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m.
St. Pats Drama staged a magical performance of Grease last weekend (actually, five performances in total). Faculty, parents, and students put in an amazing amount of effort and energy to prepare. Our children were terrific and there was a great spirit among the families and visitors in the audience. Congratulations and thanks to all! Next week, many of our 8th grade students will be traveling to Washington, DC, for a school trip. I am excited to be joining them from Monday through Thursday for what promises to be a full, educational, and fun trip. Please keep us in your prayers while we are away.
God bless you and all those you love.
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
